BIG HOUSE IN CASTLESTREET (Burgstrasse)
From my holiday home, everything is close by. It is located in the medieval town centre of lively Manderscheid, in a quiet street close to the castle ruins and all facilities. You can also walk straight into the woods for Germany's best hiking routes. The house has a well-equipped kitchen, sitting room with curved cinema TV, fitness room, massage room with sun-bed, lounge roof terrace with barbecue and four comfortable bedrooms, each with its own washbasin with hot/cold water. Description In the kitchen, you will only find high-quality appliances and everything you need to make cooking a real pleasure: various ways of making coffee, large refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, two ovens, microwave, induction cooker with built-in extraction system, hand blender, ordinary blender, various baking aids, toaster... Too much to mention! Everywhere good workplaces with many sockets, large smart TV, good internet and a very unique dining table. The spacious living room is equipped to comfortably watch television with many people on a specially designed curved television, so that every seat has a good view. The dongle allows you to synchronise your mobile phone or laptop and there is a DVD player with many DVDs available. Games can be played at the large table, which are stored in the games cabinet next to it. The record player with LPs on hand will certainly add to the atmosphere. The fitness room encourages you to get moving, even when the weather is not so good. There is a television with dongle and a music system. Both can be synchronised with your phone, so you can work out with your favourite background music or film/series. The massage table and sun bed can be used free of charge. In this room you will also find a washing machine and tumble dryer. It is lovely to relax on the roof terrace with a large lounge sofa by the courtyard garden. The barbecue is at your disposal free of charge. Sleeping well is important to me. That is why I only have Pullman beds and mattresses. The bunk beds also have Pullman mattresses. The bedrooms all have their own sink with hot and cold water. Two bedrooms have their own shower in the room, the other two share a shower. Bed linen and towels are provided or can be rented. There are two separate toilets. The house is designed to make you feel comfortable in every season. Therefore, both the kitchen and the living room have underfloor heating. If desired, the rooms can be heated even more with the radiators present. ADDITIONAL SERVICES COOK AT HOME If desired I can bring you into contact with a good cook. I have a very good experience with her, because she cooks delicious, mainly biological and fresh. Also vegetarian food and other dietary needs can be discussed. I can inquire whether she is available in the desired period and then put you in contact with each other. Breakfast and lunch are delivered at the agreed time. Dinner will be freshly prepared in the kitchen. You pay cash for this service to the cook herself. The average price is about €25 per person for three meals a day. You can also opt for one or more meals. This of course changes the price as well. SHOP In the corridor at the bottom of the stairs, you will find my shop, where you can buy special local products. Nice to think back home about your stay in Manderscheid or to give as a present. HOUSE RULES LINEN Bed linen is NOT included in the rental price. If you wish, you can rent a bed linen package. This package contains per person a fitted sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase, a towel, a guesttowel and flannel. This costs €10 per person extra. Let me know in time if you want to use this service. I will send you a payment request via Airbnb and make sure the linen package is ready for you. Of course, you can also bring your own linen. Quilts, blankets and pillows are provided. Kitchen linen is provided. CLEANING You rent the house including final cleaning. I have chosen to make the departure time as late as possible, before the next guests arrive. This means however that I expect the house to be left tidy. That is to say: swept clean, tidy and the waste out of the house. SMOKING For smokers, we have set up special smoking areas outside. It is not allowed to smoke inside the house. CHILDREN In the house we have thought about the children: There are toys for all ages, two highchairs, a camp bed, a changing pad, children's crockery and an electrical socket. However, there are no stair gates. It is therefore important to keep an eye on your children! PETS Pets are allowed. The surroundings are very suitable for dogs. A feeding and drinking bowl are available. Of course we assume that the dog will not cause any inconvenience to our neighbours. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms and not in the basement. They are also not allowed on the chairs or benches for hygiene reasons. Please stick to these rules! In any case, make sure that there will be no complaints about your dog(s). A dog costs € 7.50 per night and there is an extra charge of € 7.50 for cleaning. Please let us know how many pets you are bringing. I will send a payment request via Airbnb. WIFI The house is equipped with the best and fastest form of wifi. Manderscheid is located in an outlying area so wifi can be slow and there may be interference. There is nothing we can do about that. A possible defect to the router can also not be fixed immediately. Therefore the use of wifi is free of charge. In Germany, it is forbidden to upload videos. The monitoring of this is intensive and the fines are extremely high: around €800 per film! Any fine during your stay will be passed on. Contrary to what many people think, watching a film or series via Popcorn Time involves uploading. Popcorn Time is a serious risk of a high fine. COMPANIES Companies that want to rent my house because of a job in the neighbourhood, can only rent including bedding and including a cook at home and therefore depend on the availability of the cook. TOURIST TAX You will receive a payment request after booking with an amount of €1,50 per person per day. This is the amount of tourist tax I have to pay. TRANQUILLITY AND RESPECT The house is situated in the medieval city centre of Manderscheid and therefore there are neighbours nearby, mainly elderly people. Despite the fact that you are in the middle of town, you will experience the place as an oasis of peace and quiet. At night it is really quiet and dark and that is cherished. So have respect for the environment. So no loud music or outdoor parties after 10 p.m. at night; that sort of thing. I think it's important to maintain the good relationship I have with the neighbourhood. The house is well insulated and there is more than enough space inside. If you close the windows, you can have a party without causing inconvenience to the neighbours. The floor plans give an overview of all the rooms you rent. Before you are a guest in my home, you will receive an extensive information letter via Airbnb with all kinds of tips and detailed information, so that you can prepare well for your stay. Manderscheid is a small tourist town in the heart of the Vulkaneifel with geological wonders, a few museums about them and basalt columns. In the immediate vicinity you will find volcanic lakes, mineral water springs, a geyser and other peculiarities that belong to this special volcanic area. Nature is majestic: it is not without reason that Manderscheid attracts many hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists. The city is also popular for its health, especially for its lungs and heart. Manderscheid is therefore proud to have been proclaimed an official health resort. For those interested in medieval history, there is no better place than Manderscheid. It will not surprise you that this holiday home, Haus in der Burgstrasse, is located in the immediate vicinity of the two famous Manderscheid castles and the many medieval half-timbered houses that the city is rich in. Every year, medieval times come alive during the castle festivities where people come in disguise. The small but cosy Christmas market in the castle is also a highlight. But also walking through the cosy streets, beautiful parks, or visiting restaurants or the heated outdoor swimming pool is possible in Manderscheid. Everything is within walking distance of this holiday home. The best way to reach Manderscheid by train is to arrive via Wittlich or Gerolstein. From there there are good bus connections to Manderscheid. But the easiest way to get to my holiday home is by car. HOUSE RULES SMOKING For smokers, we have set up special smoking areas outside.
