The Hayloft, as we fondly refer to it in our family, is a delightful hideaway, tucked away in the heart of the New Forest, with everything you need to escape from the stresses of every day life. Once a stable block, the Hayloft was recently converted into a charming maisonette spread across 2 floors. Having retained all its countryside charm thanks to the original wooden features, the HayLoft feels cosy and homely yet is surprisingly spacious and well-equipped given its size. Downstairs features a small kitchen with all the mod cons, a cellar-cum-utility room and a bathroom with shower and bath tub. Upstairs meanwhile, you will find a bright and spacious double bedroom with an adjacent smaller bathroom and a lovely open plan living and dining area complete with fireplace. The dining area with space for up to 6 (thanks to a foldable round mahogany table) as well as a large sofa and two comfy armchairs - makes for a very sociable and relaxing living space. Last but by no means least, guests can soak in the beautiful surroundings from the top floor 30sq metre wooden terrace - equipped with an outdoor table & chairs for up to 6 people and a sun lounger. A double sofa bed is available and means the annexe can accommodate up to 4 guests. Please note the HayLoft (converted stables) shares grounds with the main property, Arnewood Rise. The grounds are made up of 1.5 acres of gardens and 4 acres of fields complete with 2 ponies. HayLoft guests are more than welcome to enjoy the grounds unless notified by us prior to their arrival. I am contactable via email, phone and through Airbnb - however as we do not live on the property we have a housekeeper who can make themselves available if you need any assistance during your stay. The house is walking distance from the famous New Forest - where two legs are definitely better than four wheels if you truly want to experience the wonders of this breathtaking national park. Think ancient woodland, beautiful heathland, pretty villages and a 40-mile ‘secret’ coast. There are more than 140 miles of tracks and footpath, where you can enjoy easy-to-follow walking routes, short strolls or long-distance trails. One of the things that makes The New Forest so unique is to see thousands of free-roaming ponies, donkeys, cattle and deer on your travels around the national park. In the warmer months, be sure to head down to Lymington for a spot of sailing or, you can hop on the ferry to the Isle of Wight for some delicious fish and chips or a long luncheon at the easy-going yet unforgettable Hut Beach Club in Yarmouth( (Website hidden by Airbnb) Many people don’t associate the New Forest with a coastline, in fact it stretches from Totton nr. Southampton through to Barton-on-sea going west and runs for 40 miles. There are plenty of beautiful beaches for you to visit whilst you’re here. Whether it’s a boiling hot sunny day, or a cold crisp morning, the New Forest coastline is a wonderful place to go to, for a walk or a spot of swimming/ sunbathing. Another-not-to-missed local destination is The Pig in Brockenhurst, with a picturesque greenhouse restaurant a walled kitchen garden - makes it the ideal place for a Sunday roast lunch! Sway is the nearest train station. From London Waterloo, it takes 1h30 to 2hrs (on the slower train). Sway is less than a mile away from the house and it takes approx (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes on foot. There are a number of local taxi services available New Forest Taxis (Website hidden by Airbnb) and Brokenhurst Taxis (Website hidden by Airbnb) Bikes are available for hire in Brockenhurst - at the train station (Website hidden by Airbnb) It's a fantastic way to get around and discover the beautiful countryside. Nonetheless, the easiest and most convenient way to get around is by car. The Hayloft sits in the grounds of the main house, a 7 bedroom period property with exclusive use of a heated swimming pool, tennis court and 1.5 acres of landscaped gardens. Arnewood Rise is also available for rent on Airbnb - https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/35400953?s=67&shared_item_type=1&virality_entry_point=1&sharer_id= (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)
