Dog friendly * secluded rural garden hideaway

Hidden House Retreat is a transformed mobile home situated in a large permaculture garden we are creating, surrounded by fields and an abundance of wild life and our new build eco-house. Its countryside location within easy reach of the A303, M5 and Ilminster making it a great bolt-hole for those wanting a secluded base to explore the local area or simply relax and enjoy our resident birds. Recently updated interior, separate sitting room with log burner including a box of logs (additional bags of logs have a small charge) and double bed with dual controlled electric blanket. Large bathroom with bath and a shower attachment on the taps. The kitchen contains a combination microwave, two electric rings, kettle, toaster and small fridge/freezer. Outside seating area in the yurt field which is in the main garden and plenty of walks from the front door (for your furry friends) There is plenty of parking available on our site and space to store bicycles. Hidden House is in our garden and we can usually be found round and about either working in the garden or house. South Somerset is a great location as a getaway and ideal as a stop over to holidays in the far south west. We have amazing cafes our favourites being Riverside in Ilminster and Pip's at the Railway Carriage in Lopen. There is a good selection of local pubs and restaurants including: The Wyndham Arms (walking distance) Barrington Boar, The Firehouse & The Lamb & Lion. The Somerset Levels are a stones throw away, Glastonbury just over the hill and a variety of nearby NT properties and gardens. The Dillington Estate, a popular wedding venue, is 5 mins drive away offering a range of courses and events. The A303 and M5 give excellent access through Somerset and a number of good roads access the nearby Jurassic coastline which has some of the most amazing cliffs I have seen. There are a number of cycle routes running through this area ( secure lock-up is available). The Blackdown, Quantock and Mendip Hills surround us for avid walkers. Covid-19. 2022 Update - We have added a flexible cancellation policy of 1 day for January and February to take the risk and worries out of booking in theses changeable times. We are in a very secluded location. We would also like our guests to know that we are very serious about making sure Hidden House Retreat is as safe as possible and sign up to Airbnb enhanced cleaning protocol. In order to reduce risks to guests and ourselves we ask our guests to; Strip the bed sheets and towels and put into the laundry bag provided so that it can be left for 72 hours prior to hot washing. A full breakdown is provided in the welcome pack. Hidden House Retreat is a wonderfully isolated safe haven away from it all. The ideal place to relax, recharge and unwind. We look forward to welcoming you. We welcome well behaved dogs but due to extra cleaning please note an additional charge of £10 will be applied for your dog(s) stay. Airbnb take a small percentage of this for insurance so if you have any little accidents with your pet, please do tell us so we can make a claim! Please remember to bring a dog towel for those muddy feet and if you cannot keep your dog off the furniture, please bring a throw to cover the furniture. We have found paw prints pretty impossible to remove from bed linen, and whilst we both love dogs we may have to charge you to replace bedding. For long stays 7 - 14 days we can provide on request the use of a washing machine and tumble dryer at a cost of £5 per wash. Carol.
