This detached one bedroom Grade II listed stone built coach house is set in a private location adjacent to the owners' residence, with independent access and your own private off road parking. To the side is a private lawned area with seating. Pets welcome. The Coach House is set in a courtyard opposite Old Brewery cottage and next to my house. In the heart of 'Hadrian's Wall Country' these attractive Four Star rated, Grade II listed stone built cottage offers charming holiday accommodation to an excellent standard. Melkridge is a friendly hamlet, surrounded by spectacular countryside only 2 miles from Haltwhistle which offers many facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool (seasonal) Ideal for exploring Hadrian's wall and Northumberland's National Park. Kielder water and the Scottish border are within 1 hour drive. The new Sill visitor centre near Vindalanda is now open and the Alston steam railway has been extended. Guests have their own private garden area with seating and a barbeque and are welcome to use my large garden to relax in ,I have a large pond in the garden so small children should be supervised. A new summer house has been built and there are several seating areas , you can feed the chickens if you like! We like to meet and greet are guest when ever possible and live next to the cottages ,which are set around a courtyard. We are happy to help in any way we can. This is the heart of 'Hadrians Wall Country', a area with a rich heritage to explore - Vindolanda and Housesteads Roman Fort Museum are historic visitor attractions close by. The popular market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey, boasts many amenities including a theatre/cinema, leisure centre and splendid golf course less that 15 miles east. Carlisle is approximately 23 miles west, making this an ideal base for those wishing to explore the delights of West Northumberland with easy access to the stunning beauty of the Lake District National Park and the Scottish border region. There are lots of places of interest to see such as Talkin Tarn Country park near Brampton, Alston with its Steam Railway which has been extended by 1.5 miles, Wallington Hall and gardens, Chipchase Castle and Gardens, Kielder Water and forest and lots more! The new Sill visitor centre is now open. Shops , pubs , etc. are nearby at Haltwhistle approx. 2 miles away. We have a very good bus service taking you to Carlisle and Newcastle with the bus stop only 100 metres away from the coach house. There is also an excellent bus service along Hadrian's Wall Ad122 service which runs from Easter to Autumn. Taxis are available . We are on the 68 & 72 cycle routes so if you want to bring your bikes we can give you access to a shed to put them in. Trains to Carlisle and Newcastle stop in Haltwhistle, they now run approx. every 30 minuites free car parking is available at the station. Please note this cottage is 1 double bedroom to accommodate 2 people, and a cot is available. The cottage is opposite Old brewery Cottage also listed on airbnb
