Overlooking Stradbroke Island, situated in the tranquil Bay Islands off South East Brisbane, this beautiful 3 bedroom home is a perfect destination for a relaxing and unwinding holiday. CLOSE TO BRISBANE,THE SUNSHINE COAST,GOLD COAST AND BYRON BAY. We supply plus two kayaks to cruise around the islands. Life jackets mandatory. The house is only a few minutes drive from the jetty by car and within walking distance to all amenities. The serenity of the position with beautiful views of the water and Straddie. The house is high set so there are views from almost every window. There is the living area upstairs and a huge, open living area down stairs with a sofa bed and a bar area. The street is very quiet with only five other houses close by. Max number of guests six. Guests will have access to everything in the house. My home is your home for the duration of your holiday. We also have a mooring down in front of the house that you can use if you are travelling by boat. You will find brochures, a ferry timetable, kayak hot spots for the islands, Eco walk maps, island maps for all the islands and more general information on the kitchen bench. Please have a read at your leisure. I live interstate, an hour and a half away, just over the border in NSW, but my neighbour will be there for the listing and if you need anything. The keys are in a key safe near the front door on the wall and instructions with the key code will be provided once you have booked. If you have any issues you can contact the neighbour or myself. I love the quiet and serenity of the area. It's a beautiful walk down to the Yacht Squadron at the point of the island. If you have a boat then boating around all the islands is a must. We are in such a central position to head down to the Gold Coast or north to Moreton Bay. A day out fishing is a great alternative. Otherwise any water sports or activities is a must- head over to Straddie for the surf beaches and whale watching or into your car and head down the coast. On the island you can sail and kayak. I have the use of 2 kayaks. They are available and live in the garage at my place. You can put them in the water at high tide from the block in front of my neighbours house- the yellow house so excellent access to the water. A sailing and kayak club has recently opened at the southern part of the island at Sandy Beach. You also have access to the local tennis courts at the state school near the shops. There is a public pool near the shops and oval. You can take your car on the barge and have it on the island to get around or bring your own bikes . There is a cab service for the island, plus you can leave your car at Redland Bay and catch the ferry over to Russell and either walk to my house if you don't have a lot of bags or take a cab. It's not expensive. Most of the island is flat so you can go for walks to the shops, to Canaipa Point and to the local pool near the shops. The house is fully furnished so all you need to bring with you are clothes and food. The kitchen is fully fitted, plus we have a barbecue. Linen is provided unless you choose to bring your own. If you use my linen can you kindly wash and hang out before you depart if you have time. It would be of great assistance to me thank you. There are shops, chemists, take aways, bottle shops/off licence, cafe's and a medical centre on the island. Feel free to head down to the water from the house on the outgoing tide to try and catch a few crabs or fish for dinner. ** There is a pick up/ drop off bus service for the RSL Club not far from my house.
