Chalet Baerehoehli on the Axalp

The Baerehoehli on the Axalp is the ideal holiday destination for families, small groups and of course everyone else. Dreamlike area, in every season of the year. For hiking or skiing. Ski slope can be reached directly from the house via ski. The access road to Axalp is cleared black in winter and can be reached with simple winter equipment. Our house is modernly equipped and offers every comfort. When selecting the furnishings, we have attached great importance to the fact that our guests will not miss anything. The offered chalet consists of two floors (ground floor, 1st floor). In the basement there is an additional studio, which we rent out separately. Of course, it can be used in addition to the chalet e.g. for accompanying parents, relatives, friends. The terrace and garden of the chalet is exclusively reserved for the guests of the chalet. We live in Ottenbach in the canton of Zurich. This is about 90 minutes away from Axalp. Therefore we will not necessarily be there. Of course we can be reached by telephone and in urgent cases we can be on site personally. Axalp is a clearing at about 1535 m above sea level in the municipality of Brienz. It is a wonderful hiking area in summer as well as a skiing area in winter. Wintertime In the cold season, the Axalp is a small but fine winter sports area. The ski lifts on the Axalp are operated by the Axalp Windegg AG sports railways. There is one chair lift (Windegg) and three ski lifts (Tschingel-, Hüttboden- and Dotzweglift). Axalp is considered to be very child- and family-friendly. In "Axiland" the youngest guests will find their fun in the snow. Two children's ski lifts are available free of charge for beginners. With natural and artificial aids, children can playfully learn to ski or have fun tobogganing or romping around in the snow. There are also marked snowshoe hiking trails and cross-country skiing trails. Enjoy enchanting winter days away from the hustle and bustle. In summer In summer, many hiking and mountain trails can be explored. A hiking trail of a different kind is the Schnitzlerweg. This leads from the Axalp to the Hinterburgseeli. Along the trail you will see many figures carved from tree stumps by wood carvers from Brienz. A hike into the Giessbach Valley is also a unique experience. Explore the valley from which the famous Giessbach springs. A completely different attraction is the Swiss Air Force's annual air shooting. The Axalp can be reached from Brienz in 35 minutes by post bus or car. The road is partly single-lane, but there are enough alternative bays to ensure that access is not a problem even with your own car. Axalp only has a reduced range of shopping opportunities. While the village shop offers a rustic experience, our guests are usually well advised if they bring sufficient food for self-catering during their stay in the valley in Brienz or Meiringen at the latest. Of course, Axalp also has gastronomic offers. However, depending on the season, it may be necessary to check how open these are.
