Middle Cottage - Tranquil cottage ideal for walkers
Middle Cottage is located on Abbey Road in the Village of Cornworthy exclusively marketed by Dart Valley Cottages. Out of the way of the tourist trail we are sure you will find the location peaceful even in the height of the summer. Middle Cottage is over 200 years old and has been entirely renovated to an extremely high standard retaining lots of original character mixed with modern comforts, from the front of the property you have views over fields and the remains of the 13th century Priory. Cornworthy has a pub that has recently re opened and there are two brilliant riverside pubs within walking distance in the creekside village at Tuckenhay. Cornworthy lies in the picturesque Dart Valley between Totnes and Dartmouth. There are lovely walks locally and along a beautiful stretch of the river Dart. The beautiful coastlines and beaches of the South Hams are only a short drive away. There is plenty of unrestricted on street parking immediately outside the property as well as front and rear gardens to enjoy. The front stable door opens into the slate-tile lobby with 2 steps up to the open plan ground floor. The kitchen/dining area to the right is well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, ceramic hob, fan oven and larder fridge as well as microwave, kettle and toaster. (There is a freezer available to guests located in the shed at the rear of the property.) To the left is the living area with 3-seater sofa and armchair centred around the inglenook fireplace. Beyond the fireplace is the snug area with 2-seater ‘snuggle’ sofa and TV (The TV is on a pivoting wall bracket so it can be watched from the lounge area or the snug). The stairs lead up from the snug to the bedrooms and family bathroom. Upstairs guests will find the master bedroom which has an oak framed kingsize bed, furnishings and an annex that can easily accommodate a travel cot (please advise upon enquiry if you would like one included). The second bedroom has a standard double and furnishings. The family bathroom has a heated slate tile floor, toilet, basin and bath with electric shower over. Outside: There are sheltered gardens at the front and the back of the cottage, both with patio areas and tables and chairs so that you can catch the sun at any time of day. Great for enjoying a coffee and croissant in the morning or a cold beer or hot chocolate in the evening. Parking: There is space outside to pull up and unload and plenty of unrestricted on road parking just a few yards away. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Friday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact me with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Friday changeover. Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc. (Hidden by Airbnb) "Middle Cottage Cornworthy" to find out more and get in touch.
