Looking for a getaway in the mountains? Our cabin is just what you need. Sit back and relax in our quaint family-friendly cabin. We are located on a quiet cul-de-sac with the Sequoia National Forest just outside the door. Enjoy deer running through the yard, hiking in the mountains, skiing/snowboarding/tubing at the local ski resort, boating in Lake Isabella or floating down the Kern River. *Please note, this is NOT a party cabin. It's for families and small quiet groups. Get out of the city, un-plug from day-to-day life and come enjoy the mountain! Our cabin is located along the Sequoia National Forest and was built against a hill. For that reason it is a 3 level cabin with a main level, an upstairs loft and a downstairs master bedroom. (We are not wheel-chair accessible, unfortunately.) The main level has the main living area, kitchen, dining area, a full bathroom and 2 smaller bedrooms. There is also a wood burning fireplace used to heat the cabin and a wrap-around balcony. The kitchen has all the cooking supplies you will need plus a Keurig and a selection of coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider. Head upstairs to the loft and you'll find a sofa bed, TV, Nintendo, DVD player, a wide variety of DVDs to watch and games to play. We also have a record player/MP3 player and an assortment of music to listen too. (No internet and no cable, we just have too many trees to get a signal.) From the main level, head down a spiral staircase to the master bedroom, 2nd full bathroom and a 7 ft air hockey/table tennis table. There is a pellet stove on this level to heat the room. Enjoy a wrap around balcony on this level as well. The cabin is professionally cleaned between guests, with all areas disinfected. Our cleaning service uses hospital-grade cleaning agents to ensure we are meeting CDC guidelines for cleaning. All linens, dishes, towels and appliances are cleaned and disinfected to keep you, your friends and family healthy. About 6 miles down the mountain is Lake Isabella, and another 5 or so miles to the north is the Kern River. There are cute little towns to the north and south, Kernville and Lake Isabella. Head past Kernville and you can visit the Trail of 100 Giants where you will see the most amazing giant Sequoia Trees. In the winter, if there is enough snow, the Alta Sierra Ski Resort is only 3 miles up the road from cabin where you can ski and sled. Book today! We'd love to have you stay here. You will have access to the entire house, except the shed at the bottom of the hill. There are 2 keys in the lockbox. One key unlocks the gate and doors under the house. The other is for the house itself. I live about 90 minutes away from the cabin. If needed, I can come up and help with any issues. I am always available by phone or text. The neighborhood is very quiet. There are about 8 houses on the cul-de-sac, most of which are vacation homes. Please be respectful of the neighbors that live there. Quiet time is at 10pm. There is wildlife all around, for that reason please leave your trash inside otherwise the squirrels and raccoons will make a mess of it. Be prepared for snow between December-March/April. Snow chains are often required as you work your way up the mountain. Our cabin is located on a city-plowed road, it is plowed along with the highway. There is no central heat, so you will want to start a fire when you get to the cabin. Everything you need to do that is by the front door and easily accessible. The fire will make the cabin nice and toasty.
