Cosy Cottage for 6 in Dorset
Our cottage is full of family treasures with log burning stoves and a generous farmhouse dining table to gather round. It has a large private garden with summerhouse. It is set in a small peaceful hamlet surrounded by rolling hills with plentiful walks and pubs to enjoy. The cottage has been in our family for over 40 years and offers both home comforts and mod cons in a idyllic setting. The cottage is set in blackmore vale country and offers a comfortable and welcoming rural retreat. Within an hours drive of the jurassic coast and walking distance to the nearest village pub. There are toys for children inside and a swing and summerhouse in the garden to enjoy. The interior is cosy and warm, with plenty of character. There are 3 bedrooms. 1 double on the first floor, and also a twin bedroom with beds that can be made into a double on folded underneath to make a single. The third bedroom is in the loft and has a double bed and 2 additional alcoves which can be slept in by children up to about the age of 10. We have very friendly neighbours who can help with local knowledge, and I can be contacted by phone during your stay. Woolland is a small hamlet with no more than 20 houses and a few outlying farms. The road through the hamlet is not busy. Woolland has a church but no shop or pub. There are pubs in Ibberton and Hazelbury Bryan, which serve food. The nearest shops are six miles away in the town of Sturminster Newton. There are a number of pubs and restaurants worth a visit in the area. Please have a look in our cottage folder for local suggestions. The cottage is about 5 miles from the nearest town, which has plenty of shops and a supermarket. The nearest pub is 2 miles away and the nearest train station is Gillingham, which is 13 miles away, a taxi firm operates there and can take you to and from the cottage. We have a dishwasher and washer/dryer. Fridge freezer and wireless internet access. The cottage has a wireless music speaker that you can sync with your devices. A tv and dvd player. The cottage has 2 wood burning stoves as its main source of heat. Guests will need to use the coal and logs supplied to keep the fires going. However this heating system is also supplemented by night storage heaters and multiple fan heaters are provided for the colder months. The shower is electric and provides intant hot water, Additional hot water is provided by an immersion heater for the Bath. Tesco and Ocado both deliver to the cottage.
