Pine Cottage is situated in a quiet lane in the heart of the picturesque village of Slapton on the South Devon coast. Only half a mile from the shingle beach at Slapton Sands and the National Nature Reserve and freshwater lakes of Slapton Ley. This is an excellent area for walking with many footpaths and the South West coastal path nearby. Pine Cottage has an open fire for those spring and autumn evenings and is just a short stroll away from a well stocked village shop and two good pubs . Ground floor The front door opens directly into living room with 2 sofas, open fireplace, TV, DVD player and DVD/Freeview recorder. Kitchen/ Dining area with dining table to seat 4, electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box and door to rear of the cottage and a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and WC. Open tread stairs to upstairs. First floor Bedroom 1 double bedroom with 4ft 6in pine bedstead and curtained hanging recess. Bedroom 2 with full size 3ft bunk beds and small wardrobe. Bathroom with pitched pine ceiling, bath, shower attachment, basin and WC. Outside: At the front of the cottage, tubs of flowers (also access to 3 further cottages). To the rear is a walkway providing access to the other properties. THE LAWNS ARE PRIVATE AND DO NOT BELONG TO PINE COTTAGE. DOGS TO BE KEPT ON A LEAD. Linen: All bed linen and towels and tea towels are supplied. Heating: Mains electricity and heating. Parking: On road parking. Wi-Fi available. Pets: One well behaved dog welcome at an additional £25. Caretaker details will be visible closer to your stay. The beautiful setting of rolling Devon hills is uniquely tranquil, excepting the constant chatter of abundant birdlife which will wake you each morning. The South West Coast Path is a stone’s throw away and runs over National Trust land, leading to many unspoilt coves and beaches along the rugged and beautiful coastline. Slapton is a small village just a stone's throw from the outstandingly beautiful stretch of coastline at Slapton Sands, from where you can enjoy sweeping sea views across Start Bay. Slapton village itself boasts two pubs, The Tower Inn which is renowned for its excellent food and The Queen's Arms. Along the coastal road towards Dartmouth, you will find Blackpool Sands, one of the most popular beaches in Devon. The market town of Kingsbridge is just 7 miles away and offers a good choice of independent shops, cafés and pubs, as well as two supermarkets. Please note children must take care on the open tread stairs from the living room to the landing.
