Stunning barn in the heart of the Chilterns

Stunning self contained barn space offering privacy and character situated in the beautiful and quiet hamlet of Meadle, in the county of Buckinghamshire, at the foot of the Chilterns. It has underfloor heating throughout, a fully fitted kitchen with coffee maker, dishwasher and washing machine, a stylish bathroom and an amazing sleeping loft with kingsize bed. There are two further single beds in the main open-plan area that are incorporated into the generous living space. The private and self-contained space for guests is part of an ancillary barn that is separate to the main house where the host family live. This ancillary barn also contains an office and a small gym that are not part of the rented space. However, if you would like access to the gym, it can be arranged. The sleeping loft is accessed with a bespoke built-in ladder that slides into a fixed position on a rail. While this is perfectly safe, if you are unsteady on your feet, you should probably choose to sleep in one of the single beds situated within the main living area, as you will be using this great feature at your own risk as part of our House Rules. Great quality bedding awaits you whether you're sleeping upstairs or downstairs! The two single 'day' beds can be used for lounging around when not used for their main purpose - sleeping! The black velvet chesterfield style sofa adds a bit of urban chic to the mix! There is plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for belongings, as well as an extendable table for dining. PLEASE NOTE: The barn has not been available for a few months, which is why there are no recent reviews. However, it's now back online from Friday 25th March and we look forward to welcoming new guests! The accommodation has its own secluded private entrance and sits across from a paved courtyard with a large outside table and chairs, next to the main house. Guests can request to use the courtyard for alfresco dining and a BBQ, but its use is restricted around the needs and privacy of the host family. There is also a 4-seater picnic bench in a more secluded area at the rear of the barn, which is for guests to use exclusively during their stay and where they are free to use the BBQ. The gardens surrounding the barn and the main house are lush and spacious, so please feel free to stretch your legs and explore amongst the fruit trees, pond and various plants and flowers; and please do visit the ducks and chickens! Your host will be available most of the time during your stay. Meadle is a small hamlet of about 25 houses, located in the county of Buckinghamshire, that leads onto farmland. The road is therefore very quiet. The Chilterns nearby offer amazing walks, cycling and mountain biking, with various villages and country pubs scattered around. Meadle is situated five minutes from the local town of Princes Risborough, from which trains to London and Bicester run frequently. About 10 minutes drive away is the amazing market town of Thame and in 45 minutes you can be in Oxford. If you have bikes with you we can arrange to store them safely under cover. We have three children that have plenty of toys for boys and girls, so please do let us know if we can supply any. There are DVDs and books in the barn, but also lots more in the main house, so please do ask if you would like to rummage through them!
