'The Art Room' in the heart of eclectic Islington’

'The Art Room' is a beautiful unique space created for art loving travellers of all backgrounds. Located in the most eclectic and vibrant hub of Newcastle, only footsteps from Hamilton Station. We are situated in the very heart of the hippest suburb in town. We are a creative and artistic community, culturally rich and close to stunning beaches. Islington is a place of wonder with gorgeous boutiques, local artisans, exhibitions, galleries, designers and makers. Welcome to our art filled home. Our home has three fur babies so it is only suitable for animal lovers. Our rescue animals are: Andrew: A sun loving pure white cat around 15 yrs old who will trot along with you down the road if he likes you. Tully: Our most recent addition. A Red Cattle X Jack Russell 3 year old dynamo , the true guardian dog of all who dwell In the home. Tully is always on the job, she will bring you a toy to throw if she likes you.. Posca: Our son's beautiful large rescue dog who stays with us often for sleepovers and is a big gentle giant with a very deep bark. She is a gorgeous girl. Our animals are DELTA tested to ensure they can be around people with low immune systems and all have had current injections and immunisations. They are inside animals but are not allowed in the guest spaces (unless you choose for them to visit you). Guests can access the following spaces exclusively: - Bedroom space with fridge, tea and coffee facilities - Bathroom with shower and a good size tub - 'Hot Desk' in the studio/office and library space - Front of house outside area with table and chairs You will share the home working professionals, 1 cat and two dogs, however you can see us and communicate as little or as much as you need in order to enjoy your stay. Experienced travellers and Airbnb users ourselves we are aware of the needs of short and longer term stays and aim to provide an ideal setting for our guests to enjoy a unique art inspired experience. Islington is in the absolute heart of Newcastle and is bang in the middle of everything. You only need to head in any direction for no more than half an hour and you will find the beautiful Hunter Valley wine country, whale watching in Port Stephens, surfing and swimming beaches galore, two historic ocean baths, National Parks, bushwalking, eclectic artisan shopping and incredible art galleries. Our home is located within a short stroll to parks, pubs, dining, cafes and more. The location is exceptional. We are footsteps from Hamilton train station. Parking is available on the street and is free in side streets but some limited and timed parking spaces are on our street. We do not have any off street parking. The room is well appointed with coffee and tea making facilities, a fridge filled with cold fresh filtered water, a selection of seasonal local organic and fair trade produce, the very best range of current art and science magazines and the room displays curated work by local Newcastle artists from our private collection (current artists featured are: Bridie Watt, David Hampton, Dino Consalvo, Trevor Dickinson, Ela Squires and Quinn Squires aka Real Salad) We provide snack items of organic and local produce. Fresh blooms are a part of everyone’s stay with us, sourced for each guest and placed in the bathroom and bedroom to enjoy. An office desk area within an impressive library of art books, collected over a lifetime of art education, teaching and travel, is on offer for guests to access during their stay. Our walls are swimming with original works of art, prints and posters to leave guests inspired and with a greater curiosity about the art world. We have a leafy outdoor area exclusively created for the use of guests located at the front of the home and will ensure a unique and interesting stay for the people watchers. The little enclosed courtyard style verandah is ideally situated on the vibrant bustling street. Our pristine bathroom is beautifully styled and is only for guests staying in ‘The Art Room'. So whilst it is part of the larger home, it is yours for the duration of your stay with us. Our white bath towels are large and fluffy. With attention to detail, loads of experience as an Airbnb guest throughout the world and a love of design we aim to provide an experience where guests can relax, recover and be inspired by what Islington, the arts and Newcastle have to offer.
