"ECO-FARM" QUINTA DE SAO MATEUS Ecology/Permaculture/Natural wine/Natural food/Panoramic View. This Eco-Farm puts organic agriculture into practice through permaculture, as well as alternative energies, zero-emission(zero waste) and so on. If you wish to relax far from the city noise and busyness and feel out of the world for a while, this is the right place for you! "A haven of peace between mountain and sea". We wish the visitors enjoy the healthy and clean environment full of green and flowers. ACCOMMODATION Double bedroom with private bathroom; capacity 2 persons. Use of large dining/living room with open kitchen, with view and direct access to the Japanese garden. NB: Breakfast, and/or dinner with natural food and wine is available on previous request. We provide baby cot for 7.5€/day. We provide bicycles for 5€/day. HOW TO GET HERE If you come from Lisbon or Porto: Take the Intercidades train and get out at Alfarelos. Then, take the Interregional train to Verride or a taxi to "EcoFarm Quinta de São Mateus, Brunhós". If you come from Coimbra or Figueira da Foz: Take the Interregional train and get out at Verride. More informations at CP website. Pick up from Verride is available on request. We are usually on the farm and if you need help, of course we are available. If you wish to help with farm tasks or gardening, you are welcome. The 17th century organic farm is surrounded by gardens, forests, fields alimented with streams. It is situated 1 km from two villages in the littoral centre of the country. The nearest beach is Figueira-da-Foz. Attractions: Promenades, bicycle, swimming pools, lake with a beach, canoe, surf, sea (20 min by car), farm tasks, gardening, bird wartching, fireflies, starwatching, botany, village feasts, etc. EcoFarm is 30 min by car or by train from Coimbra City and Central Region, and 20 min from Figueira da Foz City and sea. Our lovely animals are kept outside, they are not allowed in the house to keep the space clean.
