Chase The Wild Goose offers simple, comfortable accommodation in PRIVATE ROOMS. Popular, friendly, family-owned backpackers accommodation near the canal, 2.5 miles from Fort William Centre with excellent views of the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. LOCAL dining. All children charged as adults. MAX 5 Guests. The hostel is located in Banavie, with excellent views of Scotland's highest mountain, Ben Nevis. It is especially popular with those preferring peace away from the noise of Fort William city centre. It has ample amenities close by, including hotel, bistro cafe and pub, and take-aways just 10 mins walk. There is some parking, with an overflow Public Car Park nearby. Ben Nevis, 'Hogwarts Express' steam train and the Nevis Range with gondola and ski-runs are easily accessible by car or mini-bus. 'Breakfast to Go' is available (pay at property). Free wi-fi is available. TOWELS & TOILETRIES: please bring your own. Also available for hire. If travelling by train, alight at Banavie Station, 250m from hostel. Guests shall have access to their Bedroom and Shower Rooms, Common Areas when available, including Kitchen, Dining Room, TV Lounge and Snug and also Refreshment Station and Outside Space Staff reside on the premises and will be on hand to offer such assistance as is required, and help ensure guest health, safety, security and well being. Hostels are simple but comfortable shared spaces to meet others, young and old, and to share travel and life experiences. We love the hostel location because it is outside the city, yet only 10 mins drive and 30 mins walk to the centre. There are lovely country walks along the canal and on Banavie Hill. BEST OF ALL, the whole area is absolutely superb for walking and climbing. Ben Nevis, the UKs highest mountain, and the Nevis Range dominate the skyline. There is a good regular bus service, the train station is only 250m and the local taxi services are efficient and friendly. If walking or cycling from or to Fort William, you are advised to follow the virtually traffic-free route along the Great Glen Way and Caledonian Canal. 1. Arrival is by 10.00 pm and Departure is by 10.00 am. 2. You have reserved a PRIVATE room with shared bathroom facilities (private in use) in a staffed backpackers hostel. 3. You may use any shared lounge and dining room facilities if available. 4. ‘Breakfast to Go’ can be purchased at property. 5. FREE wi-fi is available. 6. Expect the accommodation to be simple (bunk beds), on the first floor, yet tidy clean and friendly. 7. Reception is open from 8.00 am until 10.00 am and from 5.00 pm until 10.00 pm daily. 8. Quiet is expected between 11.00 pm and 7.00 am. 9. You will be provided with freshly laundered bed linen for you to make your own beds. You are welcome to bring your own (single duvet cover, flat sheet and pillowcase, subject to approval) but down-type sleeping bags are not permitted. 10. NOTE: CHILDREN UNDER 5 years cannot be accommodated. Children are charged as adults. 11. Please bring a towel, or hire at Reception. 12. There's a Bistro and a Bar nearby for meals, and "early 'til late" food shops 10 mins walk. 13. If you are arriving by Late Train, its VERY important you let us know. Alight train at Banavie, 250m from Hostel. 14. The accommodation is closed daily between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm for Cleaning and Maintenance and Staff time off.
