The Twig, nestled in the vines
Set in a vineyard two minutes from Cloudy Bay and Allan Scott wineries and 1km from the Wairau River, this large villa sits across a courtyard from our family home. Private, with flexible spaces and bedrooms to suit small or larger groups. Kitchen stocked with yoghurt, muesli/cereals, bread, preserves, milk, tea, coffee and a complimentary bottle of local wine. The Twig is large, comfortable and private, with views over surrounding vineyards towards the mountains. Its 3 bedrooms, loft space, 3 bathrooms, and large open living and dining areas can easily accommodate 6-8 people in comfort. Extra sleeping space in the loft allows up to 10 people in total. Guests can enjoy exclusive access to the house and courtyard areas, and walk through the vineyard. Guests are also free to use the swimming pool, tennis court and garden of the main house. The Twig is has its own access but we're in the main house across a large courtyard if guests need help or advice. The Twig is in a rural area, but only 5 minutes from the airport and 12 minutes from central Blenheim. Nearby wineries and winery restaurants include Rock Ferry, Cloudy Bay, Allan Scott, Herzog's, and the Moa brewery – all within 5 minutes' drive – with many others easily accessible. Artisan hub Vines Village is 2 minutes down Rapaura Road, with boutique shops and family activities. We're only 20 minutes from Picton and the start of the Marlborough Sounds, including the Queen Charlotte Track. The Omaka Aviation Museum, with its plane collection and sets designed by Peter Jackson's special effects collaborators Weta Workshop, is across the valley. You'll find a full guide to all local attractions and activities when you arrive at the Twig. The Twig is in a rural area with limited public transport and having your own car is ideal.
