Deer Lodge, an idyllic hideaway
Deer Lodge is a spacious self contained residence overlooking beautiful gardens. A perfect place to stay when in the Cotswolds, just a 7 minute drive from Cirencester, 20 minutes from Cheltenham and a 20 minute walk from the local pub. Deer Lodge is a large self contained, fully equiped, one bedroom upside down house, set away from the main house. The living area is open plan, set in a large room with the original exposed beams adding to the charm of the house. A large deluxe sofa bed enables the accommodation to easily cater for 4 people. Deer Lodge has access via a private entrance with gated parking. The family lives in the main house at the property and will be happy to assist with general questions about the area, local pubs, walks and events in Cheltenham, Cirencester and the Cotswolds in general. The house is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 1/2 mile outside of the local village which has a charming country pub, walkable in about 30 minutes. The nearest bus stop is 30 minutes walk away (through fields) so the best form of transport is by car. Kemble and Cheltenham BR stations are within 25 minutes drive. Deer Lodge is an easy drive to Cheltenham Racecourse, just 20 minutes down the road (subject to traffic). During the Festival the area is alive with activity and you will be in a perfect position to enjoy the thriving atmosphere. The house is situated in the beautiful Churn Valley which is an AONB so there are plenty of walks for the active guests, whilst offering a central position from which you can visit the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Activities locally available range from horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, théâtres and cinémas in Cheltenham or a relaxing walk to the local pub. What better way to forget about the daily challenges of daily life!
