Traditional beach cottage on the Esplanade

'The Shack' is a comfortable, relaxing cottage on the Esplanade at Woodgate Beach. Enjoy swimming, fishing, walking, cycling, or simply relaxing with a good book or movie. Short walk to the Bowls Club/Restaurant and tennis courts as well as the Caravan Park shop and café. 'The Shack' is at the quieter end of the Esplanade. Enjoy a glass of wine at sunset while watching kangaroos grazing nearby. Once the sun has set, be entranced by the brilliance of the starry Woodgate sky. At the Shack is: Salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee (instant and ground), oil, some plain flour, herbal tea, jam, vegemite, peanut butter, mayonnaise, salad dressing, tomato sauce, baking paper, glad wrap, alfoil, kitchen paper, shampoo and conditioner, laundry liquid, dishwashing liquid, mortein, aerogarde, sunscreen, vinegar for sea stings, soap, toilet paper, tissues, hand wash liquid. As we don't live at Woodgate, we aren't able to provide any perishables like fresh fruit, milk etc. There is no Wifi at the Shack. However, our Telstra mobile gets good reception there, and our Telstra 'dongle' efficiently links us to the internet. Wifi is available at the nearby Bowls Club and also at the Woodgate Hotel. There is a council shelter shed just nearby overlooking the water. It has picnic tables and two electric barbecues. Courtesy buses operate to both the Bowls Club/restaurant and the Woodgate Beach Hotel. For people not familiar with this part of Queensland, please note that Woodgate is not a suburb of Hervey Bay. Woodgate is a separate township approximately 100 kms north. The Shack isn’t ideally suited to people with mobility issues due to several steps through the house, a narrow bathroom door and a shower over the bath that can be difficult to step into.
