Yr Hafod is a luxurious home-from-home with an open fire, character stone wall and oak beams in the lounge. The cottage offers a 300 ft rear garden bordered by a stream and open farmland. Red Kites soar above, big open skies - idyllic! Conveniently located on the A40, on the outskirts of the quaint village of Llangadog just 250 metres from the banks of the river Towy. Yr Hafod is a great base for exploring all that Carmarthenshire and West Wales has to offer. Yr Hafod is located on the outskirts of the quaint village of Llangadog in the heart of the Towy Valley, only 250 metres from the banks of the river Towy with its fantastic Salmon, Trout and Sewin fishing. It is an ideal base for walking, cycling, motor cycling and nature lovers. It is just a 10 minute drive from the historic market towns of Llandeilo and Llandovery. The property is a beautiful character cottage that has been totally renovated to a very high standard in 2021. The sitting room is furnished with sumptuous velvet sofas and leather chair from where you can sit and appreciate the character stone fireplace and large open fire whilst sipping on a a glass of your favourite tipple or a glass of sherry provided by your host. Here, there is also a large TV with inbuilt firestick and Netflix is provided to enable you to catch-up on your favourite shows. Subtle lighting is provided to enable you to curl-up on the sofas for that romantic evening in. The kitchen is fully fitted in a country style with inbuilt full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and oven and ceramic hob. Other appliances include a microwave, kettle and toaster. All the crockery, cutlery, utensils and glasses you may require are here for your use. Also provided are plates and glasses (melamine) suitable for use outside in the garden. In the dining area is a table and chairs suitable for 4 people to enjoy breakfast or a meal later in the day. Up the stairs you will find 2 bedrooms and the bathroom. The first bedroom is tastefully decorated and has a double bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and hanging area for clothes. Also here, there is a chair for reading quietly or for gazing out of the window at the sheep in the field opposite. A 32 inch wall mounted TV is also provided for when you just want to watch TV whilst in bed. Fresh white, high thread count bed linen is provided along with both feather and hollow fibre pillows for you comfort. The second bedroom is also tastefully decorated and has 2 single beds, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers and hanging area for clothes. A wall mounted 32 inch TV allows for viewing whilst in bed, and as all the TVs in the property has Netflix for your viewing pleasure. Fresh white high thread count, bed linen is provided along with both feather and hollow fibre pillows for you comfort. We provide our guests with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, bath/shower gel and hand soap in Duck Island's signature fragrance combining citrus inspired aromas balancing sweet mandarin with floral bergamot to create the essence of pure luxury. The bathroom is beautifully cottage size and has a deep bath for relaxing in after a hard day's walking, cycling or sight seeing. Over the bath there is both a rainfall shower and wall mounted directional head. Over the hand basin there is a light-up vanity mirror to ensure you always look your best! The property benefits from Superfast Fibre broadband. Outside at the rear of the property you will find Ty Twt (small house) which provides our guests with space to securely leave bikes, fishing or other equipment and offers an area for drip drying outdoor/fishing clothing. Behind Ty Twt you will find your 300 foot long private garden that backs on to open farmland and which is bordered by a stream. You will often find inquisitive cows watching you from the field whilst you barbeque your catch -of-the-day, relaxing at the picnic table with a drink or sitting around the firepit enjoying the big open skies and the Red Kites soaring above. There is ample free on road parking opposite the cottage We welcome guests that wish to bring a well behaved dog, or potentially 2 small dogs, please contact us for clarification before booking - thank you. The property offers plenty of on street parking opposite the cottage and is close to a local bus stop. Llangadog offers a railway station which is on the Heart of Wales line and the village also has it's own taxi operator. We are happy to meet guests on their arrival or provide contactless check-in via key safe. We will be available to answer any questions by telephone. Carmarthenshire, stretches from Carmarthen Bay in the south to the western Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains in the north, with wonderous gardens, awe-inspiring castles and lovely beaches. Carmarthenshire is also known as The Garden of Wales and hosts the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. This county is known as The Cycling Hub of Wales, but is equally renowned for its walking routes, superb fishing and lovely beaches. The local area has much to offer with great and interesting places to visit: The historic market towns of - Llandeilo is a historic market town and is a hub for independent shops, bars, restaurants. Also located here is the 800 acre Dinefwr Estate with its 12 century castle, historic Newton House with great walks through beautiful park land. Llandovery is a beautiful Georgian market town with shops bars and restaurants and is a famous former droving town from the 1700s. Llangadog is a quaint village on the bank of the river Towy, which has a few pubs, a village shop and butcher serving the local community and visitors. Just a short distance from here is the Red Kite feeding station at Llanddeusant. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is a Botanical Garden located in Llanarthney in the River Tywi valley, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The garden is both a visitor attraction and a centre for botanical research and conservation, and features the world's largest single-span glasshouse, measuring 110 m long by 60 m wide. Aberglasney Gardens was made famous by the BBC television series “A Garden Lost in Time” which followed its restoration. Today it is quite simply one of Wales’ finest gardens, and at its heart lies a fully restored Elizabethan Cloister Garden that is the only surviving example of its kind in the UK today. Beyond this, visitors can explore 10 acres of over 20 different garden styles from formal to woodland, right through to exotic and modern along with the fully restored ground floor of Aberglasney’s grade II* listed mansion. The Dolaucothi Gold Mines, also known as the Ogofau Gold Mine, are ancient Roman surface and underground mines located in the valley of the River Cothi, near Pumsaint, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The gold mines are located within the Dolaucothi Estate which is now owned by the National Trust. Further afield there is easy access to the Gower and Pembrokeshire peninsulas with their spectacular beaches and great walks. Also the beautiful town of Hay-on-Wye with its world renowned book festival is less than an hour away.
