Gray’s Wee Haven near Edinburgh

Gray’s Wee Haven is located in a quiet residential area of Dalgety Bay, 12 miles north of Edinburgh. The "Bay" is a small coastal town on the Forth estuary, close to the Forth road and rail bridges and the new Queensferry Crossing. The property backs onto woodlands and the Fife coastal path offering a tranquil setting, full of birdsong. The Haven is close to the beach with views over to Edinburgh and is ideally situated to explore the local area and other main tourist attractions. The studio apartment is attached to the main house. It has a separate entrance leading to a kitchen and dining area. The stairs lead up to a landing with a desk and chair. It then leads into the open plan living area with double bed, mirror wardrobes with ample storage and lounge area. There is a travel cot and a fold out single bed. These are packed away when not needed. This open plan room has large windows overlooking the garden and woodlands. The bathroom, also on this level has an electric shower, toilet and sink. Double glazed windows and central heating throughout the apartment, bedroom windows have blackout blinds there are USB outlets, WiFi and TV. The kitchen area is fully fitted and equipped for your stay with fridge, freezer,induction hob, combination oven microwave and a washing machine. There is off street parking available and lockable outside bicycle parking as well as indoor alarmed storage for bicycles. Guests will have full access to the studio apartment. Own private entrance, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom/ livingroom and landing study. Own patio. Back garden is a shared space with host. We will be available prior and during your stay to answer any questions. On arrival you will be welcomed and shown around the apartment. During your stay we will be available by phone/text/airBnB message should you have any questions Dalgety Bay is spread over many bays and coves which can be explored along the coastal path, by walking or cycling. A few hidden gems can be found in the Bay such as the 12th Century ruin of St Bridget's Kirk. The Monks caves at Braefoot, 18th century Queen Anne Gates at Donibristle House. Earl of Moray chapel ruin 1732. Dalgety Bay is an ideal base to explore Edinburgh, St Andrews, Glasgow, The Trossachs, Dundee, Stirling and Perth which are all within an hours drive. The nearest local shop is a Co-Op which is 10 mins walk or a minutes drive. Larger food shops can be found nearby ASDA, Aldi & Tesco (15 mins- 20 mins walk, 2-4 mins drive) A mile away there is a shopping area, with a post office, pharmacy, supermarket, library, doctor, dentist and police station. For drinks & food our local restaurants are - Louie Browns, which also has a wee coffee shop attached and outside seating too. Hugo's which is more of a bar but it also serves food and has a beergarden and live music. Dalgety Bay Fish Bar for excellent takeaway. Ale & Pate is an Italian coffee shop serving light meals, homebaking and Italian ice cream, with spectactular views over the water. The Compass is a sports bar and restaurant. The Hillend Tavern which is near the railway station and is a lovely family run traditional pub. Dalgety Bay also has Chinese, Indian and Pizza takeaways which all offer a delivery service. As well as a Subways and Greggs bakery Gray's wee Haven is right on the National Kingdom cycle way. The nearest bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the property and a regular bus service operates with links to Edinburgh, St Andrews, Dundee, Dunfermline and Ferrytoll Park and Ride. The Park and Ride is a 10 minute bus journey away which then links in to bus services which travel all over Scotland and Edinburgh Airport. Dalgety Train Station is a 15 minute walk away and train services will take you to Edinburgh or up the Fife Coast. Edinburgh Airport is a 20 minute drive away and can also be reached by taxi or the Jet 747 airport bus to Ferrytoll Park and Ride. There is a cat on the property in the host's home
