The cottage is gas centrally heated and there is WiFi. There is plenty of space to park your car to the front of the cottage, with a bench against the wall to enjoy the last rays of sunshine. This cottage does not have a garden. The cottage is attached to our family home therefore we are readily available for any questions during your stay. We are a Cornish family with generations of Cornish ancestors so we know Cornwall like the back of our hand. We are able to guide you to the places we know and love as well as some of the hidden gems that can be difficult to find when browsing the internet. Local knowledge is everything, especially when it comes to cream teas and Pasties! Jam first and large only. Probus is relatively undiscovered compared to the well known coastal locations, yet our rural and friendly village offers so much. Probus lies approximately six miles east of our only City Truro and a little further west of St. Austell. The village has an excellent range of everyday facilities which include a parish church with the tallest tower in Cornwall, the Hawkins Arms pub, Trudgians Farm Shop with local produce, village stores and a couple of takeaway restaurants. Surrounded by wonderful countryside & woodlands, there are several walks to be enjoyed from the doorstep. Probus is located in the centre of Cornwall which allows easy access to both North and South coasts. A short drive south will take you to the picturesque Roseland Peninsula. The Roseland is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is renowned for its many scenic attractions both inland and along the coast. The beaches at Carne and Pendower are within driving distance from the cottage and all the harbourside villages such as Portloe, Portholland, Portscatho and St. Mawes are within close proximity. There are still many beautiful parts of Cornwall which remain hidden. Our closest supermarket is Waitrose although a complete range at Truro and St Austell can be found. The City of Truro with its cobbled streets and historical buildings offers a unique city experience with a thriving independent retail scene, lovely restaurants, classic pubs, vibrant bars, and unique cafes. Due to our location transport links are surprisingly good...... for Cornwall. There is convenient access to Cornwall’s public transport network. Bus routes can take you around the county and there's even a scenic passenger ferry service to Falmouth from Truro. The main line railway link to London Paddington is available from Truro and St Austell as well as to the west of the county and the short yet stunning trip to St Ives from Lelant. We would love to help guide you to the best places to visit in Cornwall, so please do not hesitate to ask us.
