We welcome you to Wester Lawrenceton Farm, where you will have the opportunity to experience the peace and tranquillity of a small working organic farm. It is two miles from Forres, with amazing views over the Moray Firth, which can be seen from the farmyard. It is ideal for people seeking to get away from it all, wishing to experience the balance between organic farming and the natural environment or simply wishing to use the farm as a base to explore the area. You will have your own lockable front door into a private ground-floor space with a bedroom with a double bed, a sofa, a bistro table and two chairs for eating breakfast, a small desk; your own shower and toilet and a small kitchen with basic equipment for making hot drinks, preparing your breakfast (with organic ingredients provided) and making simple evening meals if you wish. We are happy for you to explore the gardens and woodland or to sit by the wood-stove in our living room and watch TV. You will also be able to use our washing machine, by arrangement. There is a barbecue at the end of the yard, where you can enjoy an outdoor meal on a warm summer evening, while experiencing the stunning views and skyscapes over the Moray Firth. We are here to welcome you on arrival and we offer you the chance to be entirely independent, but we are also on hand to help or to talk about the farm if you wish. We provide supplies for a self-service breakfast, but we are happy to cook eggs or porridge on request. Moray is a beautiful county, with lots to do within an hour or two's drive to suit all tastes - great walks through woods, up mountains, along sandy beaches or the River Findhorn; you can do the Speyside Whisky trail or explore local heritage centres and art and craft galleries; we are close to the village of Findhorn and the Findhorn Foundation; the restored medieval monastery at Pluscarden Abbey is a few miles away. Wester Lawrenceton Farm is two miles from the railway station at Forres, which has a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. It is possible to stay at the farm without a car, especially if you enjoy walking or cycling. The village of Findhorn is four miles away, with sandy beaches, pubs and a restaurant which serves local organic food. There is also a car hire business next door to the farm. Wester Lawrenceton Farm is a small family-run organic farm with free-range organic laying hens, a small flock of very entertaining of Indian runner ducks which range freely around the yard and house garden, a couple of young goats, a small market garden with soft fruit, vegetables and herbs. The produce is sold locally and is available for you to purchase to take away at the end of your stay.
