Hanna Cottage is a fully self-contained boutique lodging for two in a private, tranquil setting in bushland adjacent to a rainforest sanctuary. Imbued with the spirit of a bygone era, Hanna Cottage offers guests from all backgrounds a unique sensory experience to be enjoyed together. Shared memories ..... cherished forever! Cavanough House is named after one of the property owner’s forebears Owen Cavanough who was an Able Seaman with the Royal Navy aboard the HMS Sirius which sailed into Botany Bay as part of the First Fleet on January 26, 1788. Complimentary chilled bottle of wine upon arrival and a relaxing sherry after dinner are all part of the experience. Hanna Cottage comprises a large living and dining area that is temperature controlled with ducted air-conditioning. Guests are pampered with luxurious bed linen, towels and bathroom toiletries. The cottage has one large master bedroom with a romantic four poster bed. The bathroom features a claw-foot bath ideal for soaking the stresses of the day away and into a blissful night. Your well equipped kitchen and pantry is stocked with an impressive display of herbs and condiments for that creative culinary moment. Hanna Cottage also provides muesli, bacon, eggs, fresh local breads, juices and fresh locally grown fruit, for one leisurely self-cooked breakfast as part of your stay. Either eat in or enjoy breakfast alfresco in your own secluded, private courtyard framed by a uniquely Australian cottage garden. It is just a short stroll from the cottage to the green gold banks of the meandering Bumbles Creek that winds through the property. There you will find a picnic setting in a private oasis under large shady gums and Australian red cedar which stand tall and proud having survived the early logging in the region. Relax and enjoy your surroundings then retreat to the pool for an invigorating swim before deciding on what to do next. The region has a variety of options and so much to enjoy. Hanna Cottage is situated discreetly away from Cavanough House the main dwelling on the property. The Cottage is private and for guests alone. Hanna Cottage is accessed via a private road that has a short unsealed section heading in to the property then leading to a tarred circular driveway framed by Jacaranda trees. Parking is located adjacent to the cottage itself. Guests have access to all the open space and surrounding bushland within the Cavanough House boundaries. Dependent upon the season, guests may be invited to sample some of the produce grown on the property. A picnic table and chairs have been placed beside the creek should guests wish to enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush whilst enjoying a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea. Enjoy uniquely Australian birdsong of native Kookaburra, Currawong, Lorikeets and Bellbird to name just a few. The property owner lives on the premises. Guests will have no access to the main house unless express permission is granted. The Hanna Cottage experience is expected to provide guests with a relaxing and secluded getaway designed to invigorate and inspire. Guests will be afforded the privacy to retreat and do nothing or more as they wish. The host will be available should guests require assistance or advice or perhaps to arrange that something a little different for a special occasion. It is up to you! Australian Reptile Park is a hands-on zoo located in a natural bush setting on the Central Coast of NSW, home to exotic reptiles from around the world and a wide variety of Australian native animals. Hanna Cottage welcomes you to explore and discover all local attractions but just sometimes the immediate surroundings and provisions and the flora and fauna of Cavanough House will be all you will need, excepting of course; for the enchantment of each other and memories everlasting! Public Transport is located a short 6 minute drive from Hanna Cottage. Bus stops and the Ourimbah Railway Station are located on The Pacific Highway just up the road. By railway carriage you can have a leisurely and scenic trip traversing water views of the Hawkesbury River into Sydney direct to Circular Quay and The Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge in just over an hour. Hunter Valley day tours and wine tastings can be easily accessed and joined at designated local pick up stops. Taxi cabs are also available. The Property is gated and access keys will be provided and or the gate will be open for check in and check out periods.
