St James Converted Church Miners Rest, Ballarat

This beautiful converted church is seeped in history. Circa 1859 this Gothic Revival church was originally the St James Presbyterian Church of Miners Rest before being lovingly converted into a beautiful accommodation. Located in Miners Rest just 15 mins from Ballarat CBD its the perfect place to access all that Ballarat and surrounding areas has to offer. A truely stylish and boutique accomodation with loaded with lots of extra luxuries. When staying at this beautiful converted church guests will have full access to the entire property and surrounding yard. The entire place is seeped in the history of the old church with exposed brick walls, gothic revival style doors and gorgeous timber beams. Lovingly converted from a former church to a modern and stylish accomodation, guests who stay will have all of the modern day luxuries available. Downstairs boasts a modern kitchen with everything you need to cook including a pod coffee machine (coffee included), microwave, and a dining area to seat 6 people. The comfortable lounge is complete with a smart TV and Dvd player and the reading corner has a comfy couch to curl up and enjoy a book or two. There are games available to keep the whole family entertained. Maybe you are here for work reasons? There is a desk/ work station which is the perfect place to sit and catch up on your all your business needs. Wifi is also included. Upstairs there is a stylish bathroom with a large shower and all towels provided. The main bedroom boasts a large King size bed with high quality linens and gorgeous exposed beams from the former church. There are skylights in the roof so you can view the stars and moon if you wish or close the blinds for a relaxing night sleep. The second bedroom has two king single size beds and the option for a third pull out single bed available on request. This bedroom has views of the church windows, exposed beams and brick wall you will appreciate the history of this beautiful building. Please note you must be able to walk stairs to stay here as the bedrooms and bathroom are all located upstairs. Although small children are welcome it is not recommended as there is no safety gate on the stairs. Outside you can sit back and enjoy the style of the old church in the backyard at the outdoor table. There is a BBQ for the warmer months. There is off street parking available in the driveway of the church. All of this is located in a quiet, family friendly street in Miners Rest within walking distance to the local pub, community playground and BMX track, IGA supermarket and general store. A bus stop to catch public transport into Ballarat is located in the same street. St James truely is the perfect place to stay. When staying at this beautiful converted church guests will have full access to the entire property and surrounding yard. Access to St James is via a lock box and is self check in. There are stairs so unfortunately this property is not suitable for persons with mobility issues. Although I won’t be there to greet you in person I live really close by so don’t hesitate to call if there is anything you need during your stay. I’m always happy to help. St James Miners Rest is located in a quiet family friendly street in the suburb of Miners Rest just 15 mins from Ballarat CBD. Miners Rest is a largely growing area with a lovely community spirit. Within a one minute walking distance there is a community park complete with BBQs, basketball court and BMX track. A few minutes walk further you will find yourself at the local Miners Rest Tavern where you can enjoy a cold beer or a country style meal. There is also an IGA supermarket close by and a general store. The general store has take away food including fish and chips, burgers etc. If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a centrally located Ballarat property then our converted church is not the right place for you. The property has free off road parking onsite. There is a public bus stop in the same street. Please note that you must be able to climb stairs to stay as the bathroom and bedrooms are located on the second floor. Children are welcome but it is not recommended for small children to stay as there is no safety gate on the stairs. We also don’t provide high chairs or cots. A third pull out single bed is available in the second bedroom on request. Due to the beautiful, unique church windows in the downstairs area there are no blinds or coverings on them. We feel that this does not compromise your privacy in any way and the bathroom and bedrooms are completely private. If you feel that this might be an issue for you then this is not the right property for you to stay. Before booking please take note of the location of St James church. Miners Rest is a small, quiet, family friendly and community minded suburb on the edge of Ballarat. Travel times to Ballarat CBD is approximately 15 mins and there is shopping, cafes, a lake and restaurants in Wendouree which is approximately 7 minutes away. We are not in the middle of Ballarat so if you are looking for hustle and bustle and a centrally located property this is not the right place for you to stay.
