Cosy country cottage in the Brecon Beacons

Welcome to our 140 year old cosy cottage in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We are located in a perfect location in the countryside in the quaint village of Defynnog just 8 miles from the base of Pen y Fan and Corn Du. Our cottage can comfortably accommodate 4 adults, plus there is a sofa bed which could accommodate an additional 2 adults if required. Our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible whilst here, and we will be at the end of the phone should you need us. Our traditional stone cottage is nestled in the perfect location if you fancy exploring some of Wales' best walks or even if you just wanted to escape and recharge. We are situated along a row of beautiful traditional stone cottages which back onto the village Church on the north side of the Brecon Beacons National Park where an abundance of tourist attractions await. Not only are we just around the corner from Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, there is also the National Showcaves, picturesque reservoirs, beautiful waterfalls, Brecon canal boats, Penderyn whiskey distillery, lakes and local towns & villages to explore. The cottage offers a perfect location with local pubs and a cafe within a stones throw away. The charming village of Sennybride is a two-minute drive or 13-minute walk from the cottage which hosts country pubs, restaurants, a fish & chip shop, garages and a few local shops. The cottage also has excellent transport links to the main cities of Swansea and Cardiff and local towns of Llandovery and Brecon itself with bus stops just outside. The entire cottage together with the garden will be at guests full discretion to use as required. We will be at the end of the telephone at all times throughout your stay. The neighbourhood is a quaint village called Defynnog nestled in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The villagers are very friendly and will enjoy giving you the history surrounding it if you manage to bump into them. Pen Y Fan and Corn Du mountain range are a short distance from the cottage. There is an abundance of attractions close by which include the Brecon canal, beautiful waterfalls, picturesque reservoirs, the Penderyn Whisky Distillery, Llangorse lake, National Showcaves Centre for Wales, Craig-Y-Nos Castle and many country walks on the doorstep. There is parking in the layby just at the end of the row of cottages. There is a bus stop across the road to the left out of the cottage which takes you to Brecon then onto Swansea on the T6 and T6X. Connecting links to other towns and cities can be located from Brecon town. We also have a list of local taxi's in the cottage. Please note that there is a Chromecast attached to the TV. The kitchen radio has Bluetooth connectivity. There is guidance in the welcome book concerning the functioning of the coffee machine. Given that the property backs onto the local village Church, the garden is located across the road and has a few steps up into it. Although the sofa bed can accommodate an additional 2 adults, bedding will not be provided for this so you would need to provide your own.
