Shamba Lodge is a small, warm place located very near the lighthouse and the sea turtle aquarium in Nungwi and our aim is to make the guests feel as comfortable as possible and enjoy their stay with us and in Nungwi as much as possible. The environment is very safe and our staff is always there ready to assist the guests and make sure they have everything they need. Our place is suitable for couples, solo adventurers and families. Shamba Lodge is a newly built construction, with two floors and four bedrooms, two double and two triple and all of them with its own bathroom, fan, AC and hot water. The rooms are very spacious, as well as the bathrooms and they all have their own private entrance. The rooms on the upper floor have excellent views to the sea and the nearest beach is 2 minutes away on foot. We also have a restaurant where we serve breakfast in the mornings and a sitting relaxing area where they can just relax and have a drink or simply a cup of coffee or tea. We also serve meals but you will have to book first. The environment is very safe and our staff is always there ready to assist the guests and make sure they have everything they need. We are located in Nungwi very near the lighthouse and just oppossite Mnarani Hotel. It’s a quiet area where you can relax away from the busy and more noisy places but at the same time, we are close enough to them. The nearest beach is a 2-minute walk and there’s an excellent view of the sea from the romos upstairs. The more touristic, busy places are about 15-20 minutes away on foot. There are different ways of getting around in Nungwi. You can walk almost anywhere, but you have to take into account the tide of the sea; when it is low, you can walk along the beach for miles, which is quite advisable because you will enjoy the excellent views of the Indic Ocean and its clear waters, but when the tide is up you will have to walk through the village. From here to the centre is a 10-15 minute walk. Another way of getting around is by bike and you can hire them at very reasonable prices. Of course, there’s always the taxis, also at good prices and it’s often used by the tourists, specially in the evenings and at night time, being on of the reasons, the fact that there are no street lights in Nungwi. The local bus stop is just 10 minutes away on foot and from there you can catch a local bus or “daladala” to Kendwa or Stone Town or other places and it’s real cheap. Finally, quite a few tourists, decide to rent a car so that they get to know more places in Zanzibar and we have a large parking area in our premises. We have a transfer service from the airport or from anywhere in Zanzibar and we can also assess you about the different excursions and activities you can do in Nungwi and Zanzibar, such as snorkelling, diving, and many others and in any other issue. We also have a laundry service.
