The whole house is yours with a fully equipped kitchen, the renovated stone barn with small organic farm, nectarines, oranges, lemons, raspberries, blackberries and other fruit in season for you to enjoy. Suggest The renovated barn is all yours for your stay, the thick walls and insulation make it warm in winter and cool in summer. Outside a large garden with spectacular views, surrounded by vineyards, perfect for outside dining and lounging on chairs in the sun during the day. Large fully equipped kitchen diner and living room and over 20msq conservatory overlooking walnut tree and fantastic views towards the valley. Solar hot water supplements gas radiator central heating and a wood fire. Private patios and large block areas paved with sun and shade are all around the barn. The noise of the bird song along with the woodpeckers who break the nuts and the almonds are the loudest sounds in the Hamlet of Amieiras. Macas de Dona Maria is a beautiful village in the center of Portugal located 2km away. Here beyond the opportunity to relax you can go for beautiful walks and explore the surroundings. Located near great historical, cultural, religious and environmental places. Tomar, Coimbra, Fatima and the Atlantic Ocean. Oporto airport 181km, Lisbon airport 168km. Nearest railway stations, Pombal 35km (taxi 35 euros), Tomar, 30km (taxi 35 euros), Coimbra 45km (taxi 50 euros) The infinity salt swimming pool is for you and your family. The accommodation is spacious , two bathrooms, and two bedrooms. Water and electricity is included as is the first gas bottle. During the winter we will negotiate a fair price for the extra gas and wood used. The barn is independent, but the small farm is accessible to visitors, but children should be supervised. Helpers are always welcome with grapes or olive crops. Sorry, no wheelchair accessible. An hour and a half drive from Lisbon, two hours from Porto. Trains are clean, fast and cheap for Pombal or Tomar. A 35 euro local taxi can be arranged to or from the train station. If you require an earlier check in please inquire we try to be flexible. As a way to thank you for your reservation with us, we offer you a welcome pack upon arrival, which consists of: Breads, butter, cheese, ham, Portuguese wine and 5 liters of water, although the mains water is safe to drink. If you have any special requests, do not hesitate to ask. We like to interact with those guests who love us too otherwise we leave you to enjoy your own entertainment. Fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, preserves and honey are available most of the year from our small farm with low impact. Barbecue is available and anyone wishing to use an old style wood-burning oven can receive lessons to enjoy bread, meat, pizzas and even suckling pigs can be arranged. We enjoy meeting our guests, but understand that most people want to have their own space and privacy. Macas de Dona Maria is a beautiful village in the central region of Portugal, here beyond the opportunity to relax,there are hours of walks along tracks though the countryside. suitable for bikes, quads and 4x4s on our doorstep. Five mins direct by car or 20 min walk uphill to Macas Dona Maria. which has a bank, 2 supermarkets, 4 bars, bakery, pharmacy, doctors, 2 hairdressers, clothes shop, jewellers and a beautiful church. Within 15 mins are many lovely villages and river beaches. Many towns inc Coimbra, Tomar, Fatima, all within an hour away. many river beaches such as Castanheira da Pera with wave machine and the Atlantic coast is within 90mins by car. Every small village has its own festivals so there is always something to see and do close to hand. We do have information leaflets on many of these beautiful places. Parking is free and adjacent to the barn. The town has 2 very reasonable taxis. Only a few euros for the village. There are Atlantic beaches in Figueira da Foz and Silver Coast. Or closer are the river beaches in stunning places, Praia das Rocas is a large outdoor pool / leisure complex with wave machine fed by the water of the Ribera de Pera, there is also a cafe restaurant here, Also Ana Aldeia de Aviz river beach located just off the IC8 in Figueiro dos Vinhos, less than 15 minutes. Or the Schitz village and river beach of Fragas Sao Simao. The festival in Macas Dona Maria is the last weekend of August and is the largest in the area with a duration of 4 days, on the Saturday there is a road and bicycle race. A good selection of restaurants and bars are close by. Great place for your vacation, whether relaxing time by the pool, or discover the historic Knights Templar city of Tomar. The local countryside is very diverse. The old rural way of life can still be seen and Portuguese friendliness is second to none. The university town of Coimbra, on the Mondego river, is nearby, as well as the Templar city of Tomar and the pilgrim city of Fatima, to name a few. Located 15 km from the weekly market of Ansiao with large supermarkets, banks and shops of general choice or in the other direction the weekly market in Figueiro dos Vinhos is ideal for a Saturday morning. Whether you like walking cycling or visiting local towns, our house is easily accessible to all that you wish for.
