Mt Baw Baw Village - Altitude Apartment 1

Located in the centre of Mount Baw Baw Alpine Village, Altitude Apartment is a great escape year round. The apartment contains a kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave and all cutlery, and there is a cosy lounge, bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed and the second room has single bunk bed. All beds are made up with towels and complimentary small soap, shampoo and conditioner. Located in the village of Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort you can enjoy the beautiful alpine environment year round! Located in the heart of the village you will be above the snow gums on the second storey of the administration building. In summer explore the many hiking trails around the village, or venture further into the national park (not far from the Alpine Walking Track), try mountain biking (mountain biking typically available from December) or book in for a laser tag or archery attack session with a group of friends or family, or even take our resident dingoes for a walk! In winter we offer skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing and even husky sled dog rides. You will be a short walk (100m) from Village Central Restaurant with spectacular views over Gippsland. The apartment is private and you will have it all to yourself. The apartment is accessed via external metal stairs. Park in car park 1 and check in at Guest Services. You will need to walk your luggage to the apartment (about 300m). Oversnow transport is available in winter, subject to advance booking. Winter – You will need to park overnight in car park 2 or 3 and display your entry ticket on the inside of your windscreen. You can book oversnow to help transport your luggage from your car to your accommodation. Guest Services is available 9am - 5pm everyday to assist with check in/out or anything you require, located in car park 1. Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort is Melbourne’s closest downhill ski resort offering a fun, safe and affordable snow experience through winter and endless hours of outdoor adventure year round. The resort is located about 2.5 hours from Melbourne. Experience exhilarating downhill and cross-country mountain biking, explore the native flora and fauna on the bush walking trails around the village and in the Baw Baw National Park (including the Australian Alps Walking Track) and even just relax and unwind, surrounded by the peace and serenity of the alpine snow gums. With its intimate village feel and sheltered slopes Mount Baw Baw is the place to start learning or fine tune your snowsports skills in winter (June-October) or in summer you can enjoy the natural environment on one of our many bush walking trails, hire mountain bikes or book in for archery attack or laser tag sessions. We also have two resident alpine dingoes in our Dingo Resource Centre you can visit or book a dingo walk experience through Guest Services. Please note there is generally no snow in summer and spring (November - May) but be prepared for all weather as it can sometimes snow outside of winter and can be windy at times. Generally it is about 10 degrees cooler than off mountain, please ensure you pack accordingly. In summer the village has a restaurant open for breakfast and lunch everyday and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights subject to advance booking. Restaurant opening hours may be subject to change in summer, please call ahead to confirm. In winter there is the restaurant, the Alpine Bar and Bistro and ski/snowboard hire stores in the village open everyday. There is no supermarket or petrol station on mountain so it is best to plan for this before arrival. There is limited vehicle access in the village in summer but you can park overnight in car park 1. In winter the overnight car park is located at car park 2 or 3. Parking and entry is paid for in winter at the resort entry booth at the bottom of the mountain. You must display your resort entry ticket clearly on the inside of your windscreen. Mount Baw Baw Alpine Resort lies within the boundaries of the Baw Baw National Park. All corresponding National Park laws apply (e.g. fires, domestic animals, etc). In summer there is not entry or parking fee. In the winter season (June - September) you will need to pay for resort entry for your entire stay (include day of arrival and day of departure). Your resort entry ticket includes overnight parking for your vehicle in the overnight car park. Please let resort entry staff know how long you will be staying. You can pay for entry and parking prior to arrival through our online store. You are also required to carry suitable winter chains for your car during the declared winter season (generally June - October) and may be required to fit them. You will be asked to present proof of carrying chains as the weather changes very quickly in the alpine environment.
