'The Nest' is a beautifully designed & self contained studio located on the entire top (3rd) floor of an Edwardian designed (but updated Eco) Villa. Perfect for a romantic Highland break. Just off the A9, Kingussie boasts walks & cycle routes galore - all directly from our front door. For rainy days, 'The Nest' has a treasure trove of analogue activities, so step away from the digital world for a few days. Just arrive with your bags. The Kitchenette has: herbs & spices, kitchen utensils, cutlery, oil, vinegar, clingfilm, pack lunch box and flask, place mats, tea towels, bread, butter, ice, lemon, eggs and bacon supplied as well as a range of teas and coffees. The microwave gadgets include: 2 x pans, omelette maker, poached egg maker, boiled egg maker and rice & pasta cooker. There is a full size fridge in a cupboard for a peaceful nights sleep. Towels, dressing gown and slippers are provided as well as a hairdryer. You will come in through the front door and use the corridor, landing and stair cases to access The Nest. I am often around during the morning, but out during the rest of the day taking advantage of the amazing area we live in. The Nest is entirely self contained and has been designed so that you feel complete privacy. But we are around should you need any advice or help with anything. Our house sits on the Gynack River, you can see it from the breakfast window. Four miles away is the Highland Wildlife Park with 4 Polar Bears, Wolves, Siberian Tigers, Snow Leopards, Snow Monkeys and lots of other Northern Hemisphere animals living in a large area. Two miles in the other direction is The Highland Folk Museum, a huge open air historic and free attraction, both take a day to enjoy. There are numerous out-door activity companies for kayaking, wind surfing, rock climbing etc. There are a multitude of walks you can do from our front door into the Monaliadh hills that start pretty much where our house is or into the Cairngorm Mountain range. There is a train station in the village and a regular bus service, or if I'm out and about I'm sure we can help with drop offs. The village has a co-op for groceries, book shop, charity shop, gift shops, gardening shop, electrical shop, launderette, chemist, gym & library, cafes and a variety of evening dinner options. We have two well behaved and heavily exercised kids who sleep well!
