La Petite Grange, converted stone built barn.
This converted stone built barn is set in a hectare of land with views of the rolling countryside which can be enjoyed from your own terraces which have furniture and barbecue provided. The open plan living room, well equipped kitchen and dining area are light and bright, it has two bedrooms with double beds. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. We live on site and look forward to welcoming our guests. We also have Le Coin a one bedroom refurbished stone built house ideal for couples. We grow some of our vegetable and herbs and keep chickens and ducks providing fresh eggs (most of the time) which our guests are welcome to help themselves to. As our orchard becomes more established we hope there will be an abundance of seasonal fruit to enjoy. we have three off road parking areas. We live on site and so are available to welcome guests and show them around. We very much enjoy sharing this beautiful part of rural France. The property is part of a small hamlet just outside the pretty village of Rioux Martin. Chalais is only 6km away. It is dominated by the chateau which has a good restaurant. The Monday morning market is ideal to purchase fresh local produce or just sit and enjoy a coffee. There is a supermarket and a good range of shops, bars and restaurants, boulangerie/patisserie, post office, pharmacy etc. We are 20 minutes drive from Aubeterre-sur-Dronne and 25 minutes drive from Saint Aulaye. The local lakes are Etang Vallier Brossac (15 minutes drive) Aires de Loisirs de Beauvallon (20 minutes drive) open May to September The Grand Etang de la Jamaye (40 minutes drive). There are many local walks and cycling routes to enjoy. Our local airports are Bordeaux and Bergerac. Angouleme is the closest mainline TGV station
