Private annex flat within family home in Birnam, near Dunkeld on the River Tay. Situated in the heart of Perthshire convenient for travel elsewhere in Scotland. Located off the main A9, 15 miles north of Perth, within five mins walk of Dunkeld & Birnam train station. Flat comprises of double room (king/twin beds), private bathroom, small dining kitchen & sitting room, private use of front entry/front garden. Birnam Arts Centre 5 minutes walk, Dunkeld 15 mins walk. Well behaved dogs welcome! Comprises double bedroom (king-sized bed or twin), kitchen with dining, sitting room with open fire and large family bathroom with bath and separate shower. Private entry and car park space in driveway plus private use of front garden. Freeview TV, wifi available. Kitchen equipped with microwave which includes oven and grill facility, toaster, kettle, fridge, sandwich maker. (No hob, dishwasher or machine laundry facilities, although clothes rack available for hand washing.) Beds can be converted from large king sized bed to twin beds if requested. All the apartment is private to the guest during their stay with private access through main front door. Shared parking in driveway, two spaces available. Birnam is a small village separated from Dunkeld by the River Tay but with the bustling ancient town of Dunkeld only 15 mins walk away. With its magnificent historic cathedral and many quirky, independent shops, must-visit cafes and music venue pubs, this apartment could not be better situated. It is five minutes walk from Dunkeld & Birnam train station giving fast access to Inverness in the north and Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow in the south and also has a service to London. Easy access by car also via the A9 route, it is midway between Perth and Pitlochry to the north which hosts the annual Enchanted Forest event. The many local attractions include the Hermitage, Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Reserve, fishing on the Tay, the famous Old Oak Tree in Birnam and further afield there is Blair Atholl Castle, Aberfeldy, Loch Tay, Scone Palace and the House of Bruar. Some of best Scottish scenery is accessible on the many good walking routes nearby. The apartment is on the main road into Birnam 500 yards from the well-known Birnam Arts Centre, a conference venue with exhibition area for independent arts and crafts, Beatrix Potter exhibition with outside garden, shop and cafe. Easy access to river walks and Birnam Glen for longer treks into the hills. Birnam Hill (374m), for the more able, totals roughly 4 miles and will take 2-3 hours, but well worth the effort for the views over the area from the summit. Public transport very good. Buses regular north and south. Train station 5 mins walk from apartment with service to Inverness in the north and Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond south.
