Our place is ideal for couples and business travellers. It has been our home away from home for 26 years. We have furnished it with locally made antique furniture. Jan has the largest collection of wire ware in Australia and guests will see these items displayed in the kitchen and throughout the cottage. The cottage is fully equipped with TV and free Wi Fi. Guests are provided with a light breakfast with a selection of cereals, bread for toast, a selection of condiments and tea or coffee. Lemke Cottage is located in the small hamlet of Moculta, 8kms from Angaston. The cottage has two bedrooms, one in the loft and the second on the ground floor. The cottage was built in the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) 's and at various times it was a school, store and for a time licensed to sell alcohol. Daniel Lemke, after whom the cottage is named, moved into the cottage initially teaching the local children but later turned his hand to organ building. He built a number of small organs for the local churches one of which remains at the nearby Gruenberg Church. He later travelled and sold organs to churches in other states. Access to the cottage is via a key held in a key box located near the back door. Access to the cottage is only through the back door. Note that there is a movement activated security camera at the back door. Entry to the cottage is by the rear door. I am available for contact by phone if needed. I have however, provided a comprehensive information folder outlining how to use the appliances and equipment in the cottage for your information. Moculta is a quiet little hamlet of about 280 residents. It is served by two Lutheran churches, Gruenberg and Gnadenberg. Both are historic and worth visiting. A visit to the Barossa wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Barossa Valley Cheese Company to purchase some locally made cheese and crackers to go with your favourite wine. There are a number of wineries a short drive away, with Henschke Hill of Grace Winery and vineyard the closest. There is an information book with our selection of favourite take away and restaurants for the information of guests. There is parking for two cars on the property. Angaston is 8kms away with shops, a number of hotels and restaurants. A winery directory is located in the information folder. The antique meat safe has a range of items for guests to use. We ask that should you use any of them please let us know via the comments book so that we can replenish them for future guests. (Hidden by Airbnb) Chrome is installed in the TV and shown as lounge room. There are two wells on the property and guests are warned not to stand close to the edge nor stand on the protective wire covering. Please note that other buildings on the property are out of bounds to guests.
