Eddie Sargent House - Bunkbed Room

This is one of Owen Sound's finest homes. Built by a general merchant in 1887, it retains its light and historic charm, but has been extensively updated for modern day comfort. If you rent this room, you have a set of bunk beds with the option of pulling off a third single mattress onto the floor (can accommodate three adults or one parent and two children, or two adults and one child). The room is stocked with toys, puzzles and books suitable for 3 to 10 year olds. This is a large house and ideally suited to either couples or families with children. The house is fully stocked with toys for indoor and outdoor play. The yard is 1.7 acres with a large deck for lounging, reading or having a BBQ. There is a children's playing structure, swings and slide and a firepit that guests may use. Please note there is no air conditioning. I do provide room fans. Common spaces like kitchen and bathroom are shared. Feel free to use the yard and back deck. Please note the living room is primarily for host and family. Guest use is at the discretion of the host. As much or as little as you want. I am here to help, give recommendations on what to see and do and I have lots of maps! Upscale and quiet, on the outskirts of town. Close to walking trails and a five minute drive or half an hour walk into town. Walk, bike, car. It is about a half hour walk to downtown and there is a wide, flat, 40km walking/running/biking trail one block from the house (used to be a train track, tracks now gone). You will be beyond city limits and in farm country within 5 (walking) minutes. The house is located a two minute drive to Kelso Beach (children's splash pad and park) and a small family swimming beach/park in the opposite direction. It is about a half hour drive to Sauble or Southampton Beaches and 1.25hrs. to Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula National Park. Continental breakfast (muffins, toast, cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee/tea) is included.
