A rustic and whimsical bush cabin for nature lovers young or young at heart, just 20 min up the freeway. A private & peaceful space for respite within our 4HA sanctuary. Kids/fur kids welcome. Single nights available Sun - Thurs. Remote check in/out, no cleaning fee. Open log fire, 2 person oval spa bath, locally sourced full breakfast provisions and a coffee machine at your disposal. Wildlife, occasionally even with a koala, at the back door. Summer or winter a unique experience awaits! The cabin is a converted transport shed with a mezzanine floor featuring recycled timber and iron throughout. The floor is coloured concrete - chosen to resemble a beaten earth floor, can be a bit cold so we suggest you bring your Uggies. Light fittings are made from kero lanterns and held up by nails from redgum railway sleepers. The kitchen was made from recycled jarrah from the Police barracks stables. Everything is deliberately old and sturdy or easily replaceable, allowing you and your family to relax and enjoy your time. Access is via our private driveway of approx 200m - take care as there are almost always kangaroos grazing alongside and the odd bearded dragon sunning himself on a warm day. 251 Pole Road Ironbank - we suggest you come from Ironbank Road (but if you're not scared of a few little bends come off Upper Sturt Rd to get the full experience of hills living!). We are available if you need us, but otherwise you have complete privacy. The cabin is 200m from the road -we don't have fences but if your dog/child is with you they'll be safe, and traffic noise will not disturb you. Be prepared for the sound of Koala's at night though! (and the occasional ring tailed possum family get together on the roof..) While we are less than 10 minutes from award winning Hills wineries (Deviation Road Winery is only 5 minutes away), cafe's and restaurants, you will feel like you are miles from anywhere.. Take the scenic route through Mylor to Hahndorf and wander down the vibrant main street. Belair National Park is only 3km away and Mark Oliphant Conservation Park even closer. You will need your own vehicle but we are not far from the city, or from the historic town of Hahndorf for an afternoon out. Wineries abound in the Adelaide Hills, Deviation Road being within hiking distance for those that enjoy a bush walk. We provide home baked bread, milk, juice, tea, coffee pods, local Bacon and eggs, tomatoes, butter and local jams for breakfast. There is a really good Foodland Supermarket behind the Stirling Hotel and, importantly, a fantastic Patisserie/Wine cellar next door to it. We provide 15kg of dry seasoned firewood for a fire each night, but more can be purchased from Stirling wood yard if you'd like to use the outdoor firepit as well.
