Secluded Post-And-Beam Retreat

Our cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath post-and-beam house is located between Copake and Ancram, 2 hours north of New York City, close to both the Berkshires and Hudson. It is available for daily and weekly rentals, depending on the season. Sleeps 6 to 8. The house is set on 7 acres of totally private, secluded land, off a picturesque dirt road and surrounded by woods, open lawn, and field. The view is stunning, the deck is huge, and the house is filled with books, toys, and games. Wildlife is everywhere--birds, turkeys, deer, possum, beaver and the sounds of owls and coyotes under the incredible stars at night. There are swings, a hammock, bikes and a treehouse/playhouse with a zip line on the property for the wee ones. It’s near all activities (hiking, skiing, tennis, golf, lake swimming, antiques shopping), cultural destinations (restaurants, theaters, educational events), and noteworthy towns (Hudson, Hillsdale, Millerton, Pine Plains, Great Barrington/Berkshires). The house has a large open kitchen with Viking range and fridge for people who love to cook. The adjacent dining area has double-height ceilings and adjoins the open living room with wood stove for cozy fires. There is one queen bedroom downstairs, one queen bed upstairs, and one room with three single beds (which has room for sleeping bags or air mattresses on the floor if you want to pack in visiting kids like we do). The house has hi-speed wifi, an overhead projector with a large pull-down screen for movie viewing (there is a selection of DVDs or you can stream Netflix and AppleTV movies on it). There is a washer and dryer in the basement for laundry. Please check back on availability often, as we usually do not know a long time in advance when the property is available for rent. If these do not work for you, a shorter stay is possible for an extra fee. Please send an inquiry if interested. Thx! Weekly and monthly rentals available as well. Check-in is typically 4pm and check-out is typically 11am. However, if there are no obstacles--such as cleaning schedules--to arriving earlier or leaving later, guests are free to come and go at any time they wish.
