A charming old Quercy stone cottage with three bedrooms and a large open plan sitting room kitchen. and with private salt water swimming pool. There is a verandah terrace that leads off the sitting room with a table which will seat 6 to 8 people. This has lovely views. You are in the heart of beautiful countryside here, 5 minutes drive from the picturesque village of Montcuq where most amenities are found. Not another house in sight. The 9 x 4 metre pool is just for your use.. This cottage oozes charm in its tranquil isolated situation. The house is made of beautiful white Quercy stone. It has a genuine authentic charm. Dating back to the seventeenth century the property was once a small hamlet of three houses sitting atop a hill. In the nineteenth century two of the houses became barns and one house became a farm house. It then became a property of the Chateau Figeac estate before we bought it. Lario Grange is the reconversion of of one of the barns to a house again. All the rooms have been carefully redecorated keeping the enchanting features and exposed beams. It has a genuine authentic feel. The upstairs has been made into the living quarters to give light and lovely views. The bedrooms are below all with bathrooms en suite. In fact one bedroom has the bath almost in the middle of the room! It is a big room of 32 square metres so can afford an open plan bathroom. This is a wonderful place for a holiday. The entire house is at your disposal. If I am here my house is away from the cottage and infringes no way on your privacy. I do always wish to invite you for a drink on my terrace which sees the sun going down. A classic sundowner! I run a walking tour operation so know all the ins and outs of local tourism and will be delighted to help! There are some lovely restaurants around. Cafe de France in the heart of Montcuq is excellent. Le Caillau near Vire sur Lot is another lovely place to eat and the roadside cafe at Saint Matre is an eye opener into quality of food in France for passers by! Vineyards are numerous too and the quality of wine here is excellent ... sometimes world class. Bastides are a lovely feature of the landscape and date back to the thirteenth century. They are small town villages that sit atop hills very often and they have small squares in the centre often with a cafe or restaurant. A charming way to enjoy a lunch or tea or supper! Most information can be found in the tourist office in the centre of Montcuq. You wiill need a car to get around locally. To walk to Montcuq it would take an hour from the house. Parking at the gite is easy. It is private and in the country. There is a large lake just twenty minutes walk from Lario Grange away down in the valley. It is a lovely walk and gives you an alternative option for swimming and jumping on a bouncy castle if your children enjoy that. There is a beach down there as well. Of course you can drive there too which takes five minutes. The walking around here is very pretty with white paths and woods and open fields often with poppies or sunflowers.
