Our home feels eclectically historical but with all the comforts and convenience of a modern home. Reputedly visited by King Henry VIII and featuring many unique architectural characteristics Latimer Manor is a magnificent 16th and early 17th century house listed by English Herritage and described in the authoritative book “In Search of The Perfect House” as “A perfect small Cotswold manor”. The house is comprised of an Entrance Hall / Dining Room, Drawing Room, Sitting Room, Kitchen, Breakfast Room, Utility Room, Boot Room, Cloakroom, Study Principle Bedroom Suite with en suite Bathroom, Five further Bedrooms, Two further Bathrooms Extensive Outbuildings incorporating Stabling and Garaging Gardens, Grounds, Paddocks - About 14 acres Guests have use of the entire house and grounds apart from two bedrooms which we use for storage. There is direct access to open countryside and wonderful walks The deluxe Latimer Suite includes the spacious principal bedroom and en suite master bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower cubicle. Historical Note: The house and this suite are named after Bishop Hugh Latimer who was instrumental in Henry VIII's first divorce Guests also have use of the spacious Ridley room with use of an adjacent bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Historical Note: Nicholas Ridley, Bishop of London and Bishop Hugh Latimer were together burned at the stake in Oxford having been convicted of heresy Guests will also have use of the Valley room with exclusive use of an adjacent third bathroom. This area, being situated at the southern escarpment of the Cotswolds is tranquil and has beautiful countryside views whilst being very close to Castle Combe, Lacock Abbey and Bath. It is essential to have a car or driver. There is no public transport. There are excellent gourmet restaurants nearby at the Manor House Hotel and Lucknam Park both of which are c. 2.5miles. Horse riding and golf facilities are also available locally. The entire house and grounds except (1) the separate artists studio which will be locked and (2) my husbands office which is off the utility room I like to welcome our guests, explain how the house works and answer any queries they may have Glorious, unspoiled countryside in a small, classic Cotswold village. Wonderful walks, horse riding, hunting, local pubs, restaurants and close to Bath, Badminton, Lacock Abbey and Tetbury. Steeped in history. Public transport is non-existent so a car or driver is essential.
