Fordell is a small friendly village on the edge of crossgates , surrounded by beautifull countryside. Legendary small country pub at top of street . There are exceptional walks and cycle routes , we are very proud to have our very own community woodland which we were the first community in scotland to purchase land through the community right to buy provisions in may 2005 . Fordell village was built and once owned by the Henderson's who built Fordell castle , they lived there for four hundred years . Fordell was linked to the first privately owned coal railway , which took the coal to st.davids in Dalgety Bay harbour then it was shipped world wide Fordell is local to Halbeath park and ride , short walk into crossgates gets you to local bus route . Great place to walk , cycle , run . Local taxi has good service x Local shops provide excellent provisions and plenty take aways . Hairdressers and car garages also in area x
