Il Castello nice cottage near Lucca

Little nice cottage for two near Bagni di Lucca, quite remote location, plunged in the country. Il Castello is a towerhouse comprising three levels linked by a steep woodden stair and entirely open-plan with the exception of the bath with shower. On the ground floor a living room with fireplace and kitchenette. On the first floor a bath with shower and a small living area. On the second floor a lovely bedroom with double bed. Outside our guests have access only to a small courtyard at the back of the building equipped with garden furniture. Sorry, NO swimming pool available for this accommodation. Our holiday home is located in the countryside and on the edge of a very small country village of just 50 inhabitants, crossed by a narrow road, accessible with small cars only (eg Fiat 500). Medium-large cars can be parked in the parking lot of the village, 200 m of paved road from our house. With small cars (eg Fiat 500) it is possible to get to the house. Otherwise, you can drive up to 50 meters from our holiday house to unload your luggage. For the transport of luggage / shopping bags you can use a small cart that will be at your disposal throughout your stay. An English speaking person (it might be even the owner/manager) will welcome guests upon arrival. Owner/manager is not always on site but she is always reachable by phone/SMS/email and speaks English. Idyllic location, slightly remote (though we have a couple of neighbors), nestled in the countryside of Lucca and close to the woods. Perfect for those who love nature and animals (including wild animals: with a little luck you can hear the fox and the cuckoo in the distance and see the porcupine or some deer on the road leading to our holiday houses). Also ideal for those who enjoy walking and want to forget for a few days the noise of the city. There is a daily bus service (about 4 runs a day) from our village (Guzzano) to Bagni di Lucca (10 minutes drive). The car is however advisable in order to visit the surroundings. You can use the train to reach Lucca and also Florence. Average distance by train: Bagni di Lucca - Lucca (30 minutes), Lucca - Florence (1 hour).
