18th Century Mill Country Gite with natural pool

Escape to the french countryside with the cozy comforts of home. Dating back to the 18th century, the Mill Worker’s Quarters at Moulin de Russac was the original home of the water mill attendant. The first floor offers an eat-in, fully-equipped kitchen and salon. The second floor has two bedrooms, one full bathroom and a landing. The green meadow and the natural, plant-filtered swimming pool complete your stay and offer a sense of country calm. As seen on House Hunter's International, HGTV. Charming and comfortable, the first bedroom has a queen size balcony bed. The second bedroom has a queen size bed as well as a crib for little ones as needed. Bedroom linens are made in France. The bathroom has both a shower and bathtub and a separate toilet. The landing provides a comfortable sofa with television and an additional twin bed. The kitchen is eat-in with a table for 4-6, fully-equipped. The Mill Suite is adjacent to our dwelling, but is completely autonomous with its own entry and fully-equipped. Please note the interior stairs are a bit steep. Our family of four lives on the property in a separate dwelling and when we welcome you, we welcome you to our home. Located in the region of Lot in southwest France, the Mill Suite at Moulin de Russac is great for those who want to explore the culture and nature of the region as well as those who want to rest and put their feet up. Wonderful for families. The Mill Suite is a 5 minute drive up the hill to our lovely small town of Castelnau-Montratier with the boulangerie, butcher and restaurants. We are 30 minutes from the historic city of Cahors and an hour from Toulouse and the airport. River bathing, hiking paths, wine tasting, speciality markets and more are short drives away. We are in the countryside, and that means nature. There are animals and critters and an open window could mean an uninvited guest. Also, we are neighbors to farmland and on rare occasions, can smell manure from the crops. We aim to decrease our carbon footprint and welcome our guests to be mindful of waste. Given we live on the property with our two children, we will be there to welcome you and ensure you have a lovely stay. Our outdoor space is shared with our family and a second gite, so there may be children running around or other guests at the pool. Given this is our home where we raise our family, we have house rules. No smoking inside and no parties.
