The Hen House at Sherwood
The Hen House sits in its own enclosed garden area to the side of the rest of Sherwood's gardens and grounds which guests are welcome to explore. This small barn conversion has a central open plan kitchen/dining/living area with a bedroom and en-suite shower rooms at either end of the barn. So sleeps 4 comfortably in the 2 bedrooms There is an option for fifth guest to sleep on sofa bed in living area, or the twin room can be arranged with bunks if booking is for 6 days of more. The Hen House is one of four very individual cottages the Hen House, Potting Shed, Brew House and the Wine Cellar, which are great for couples and small families to enjoy on an individual basis but also form an ideal group for larger families and friends to enjoy each others’ company while providing the space and privacy people need to really relax. Between them the cottages can easily accommodate 12 people and beds for groups of 16 -18 can be arranged subject to agreement with the owners. Well behaved dogs are welcome.The cottages have been converted from the old out-buildings at Sherwood and are are set in about five acres of a rather overgrown woodland garden, which is surrounded by fields and backs on to a valley of mature forestry commission woodland. However as the Hen House stands separately in its own walled and fenced yard with its own entrance you can come and go as you please. Only a 10 minutes from Junction 24 of M5 to somewhere different. Where there is time to breath and space to relax . The Hen House is tucked into its own yard, separate but part of Sherwood's five acres of woodland and rather overgrown walled gardens. Surrounded by mixed woodland and rolling fields Sherwood is settled into the lower slopes of the Quantock Hills an area of outstanding natural beauty. This is a great area for walking and cycling on the Quantock Hills or exploring the cycle paths along the River Parrett and the Bridgwater to Taunton Canel. Our central location makes a great base for exploring the rest of Somerset by car. Exmoor and the coast, Glastonbury and the wild life on the further Somerset levels, Cheddar Gorge and the beautiful Cathedral and Bishop's palace at Wells. Even day trips to Bath or Bristol.
