A secluded converted Shepherd's barn located in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The barn is in a meadow deep in the Somerset countryside with fabulous views of the Somerset Levels and Glastonbury Tor. Camping available for additional guests The barn offers comfortable rustic off grid accommodation for 2 people and has plenty of things that make it a special place: wood-burning stove, amazing views, real bed with fresh bedding, seclusion, candle-lit evenings and plenty of countryside space to explore, play or relax in. The barn has a toilet, sink, shower room and basic kitchen facilities (double gas ring, sink, cooking and eating utensils). 2 extra guests or children can be accommodated sleeping on the sofa bed or a travel cot is available. Extra £10 ppn. Camping is also available in conjunction with booking the barn for extra guests, at a cost of £10 per person per night. Guests will have the barn to themselves Guest can contact us via the phone if they have any questions or want advice on the local area. The Cathedral City of Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge are all a short drive from the barn. On Saturday and Wednesday Wells has an excellent market with lots of local produce on offer. The Westbury Inn and Queen Victoria pub in Priddy are in walking distance of the barn. The barn is rural and at the top of a field. Access via car is possible but you have to drive up a track and then through the field. During rainy periods parking will be at the bottom of the field and guests will need to walk approximately 120 meters to the barn. The barn does not have mains electricity but the lights, plug sockets and hot water are powered by a solar panel with batteries and or a petrol generator, which with the candles supplied is all you should need. The generator will need to be used when electricity for items such as hair dryers and microwave etc are used. Fuel is provided for your stay, however, as it is a camping barn and the idea is that the use of the generator is kept to minimum. Additional fuel over and above that provided will need to purchased by guests from a local petrol station if required. Due to no mains electricity supply the barn does not have a fridge but we do supply a cool box with ice blocks, with an exchange service for longer stays. We supply basic facilities like soap, washing up liquid, toilet roll, hand towels, bed linen and basic condiments. The barn has a wood burning stove (no central heating). 1 large basket of logs is provided per 3 night stay, additional logs provided for longer stays. In the colder months guests will need to be aware that they will need maintain a fire in the wood burning stove and that the whole barn will not be warm like a centrally heated house. The floors get cold so we strongly recommend bringing slippers or indoor shoes. There is a gas boiler which provides hot water at all times for hot showers and the kitchen sink, this is powered by the solar or the generator. For rates on special events please contact.
