William Johns is a 3 Star Tourism Approved property with lots of character. William Johns is a traditional Irish farmhouse cottage, with all the rooms on one level with no steps. The living room is accessed by a hallway. The living room is very spacious with a granite open fire place., complete with "Crook and Crane". The flooring is natural stone. The ceiling is V shaped with exposed wooden beams. Of f the living room is the fully equipped kitchen with painted wooden doors. There is lots of storage space and facilities include electric hob and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and washing machine. There is ample crockery and glassware to make your self-catering holiday a "home from home". From the hallway there are two bedrooms. The family room has a double and a single bed and is very spacious. the second bedroom has one bunk. Bedrooms are furnished to a very high standard and guests are supplied with fluffy white towels. The bathroom has the shower over the bath. Outside there is a BBQ patio and a safe children's play area. The cottage has WiFi. William Johns cottage is situated in a restored "Clachan" or "Close" which consists of eight cottages dating back to the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s. The cottages are situated in the world famous Mourne Mountains with Slieve Binnian as their backdrop. The cottage is easily accessed from both Belfast and Dublin, each are 90 minutes. William Johns is only 1 mile from Kilkeel, 13 miles from the leading family seaside resort of Newcastle. the nearest beach is only one mile away and it is only 5 miles to the award winning Cranfield Blue Flag beach. Ideal base for walkers, hikers, Mountain bikers, families and romantic week ends. Whole cottage and garden, play area and river walks. The fishing port in Kilkeel is the second largest in Ireland. Fresh fish is sold locally. The Mournes provide many scenic walks and hikes suitable for all abilities. It is only 2 miles to the Silent Valley Mountain Park with great views of the mountains and reservoirs . Castlewellan and Tullymore Forest park offer gardens and forest walks. Castlewellan is famous for its hedge maze. The world famous Royal County Down golf course is only 13 miles away , Mourne and Warrenpoint golf clubs are only a short distance. For Games of Thrones fans filming locations are in Castleward near Strangford, Tullymore near Newcastle and Spelga Dam in the heart of the Mournes. William Johns is best suited for guests with a car.
