You Too
The most common compliment heard among our summer guests is, "This is paradise!". So inviting on a hot summer day, the infinity pool is just outside the door and the pleasant sound of water spilling over the edge is soothing and restful. The quiet, luxuriously green countryside is perfect for short walks to the nearby picturesque villages of Livo and Naro and long walks climbing the beautiful mountainous area we live in. An exceptional combination of contemporary design, advanced sustainable technology and a spectacular view of Lake Como distinquish this modern luxury villa. Located on a hillside overlooking a vast area of the lake and the surrounding mountains, nestled on the edge of the small, peaceful village of Peglio just above Gravedona, the private, fenced in, unique property of 5,000 square meters consists of one main house named "Base Camp" where the hosts Kathy and Luigi live and one two bedroom/two bathroom guest house "You Too" with a shared infinity salt pool. The one story surface area of guest house "You too" is 100 sq. meters, has a large living room with an open kitchen with a view of the pool. The house systems include: geothermal, solar, air recirculation and seasonal air conditioning with winter heating and summer cooling, central vacuum cleaner, motorised automatic blinds, rainwater recovery for irrigation, satellite dish with broadband and a salt water pool. The property is assigned the energy performance class A + which guarantees excellent thermal insulation. My husband and I along with our little dog Tiger live in the house next door on the same property. Our space is clearly defined by a series of potted plants, herbs and vegetables. Our guests our welcome to pick fresh strawberries, basil, mint and tomatoes and more whenever they are ripe enough. The property is spacious and our guests are welcome to enjoy the 5000 sq. meter garden area. We only have one guest house so it will be just you and whoever is with you along with us using the pool and the garden. Peglio is a small agricultural/artisan town with a population of 170. There are three small restaurants in town with limited menu's. The pristine, green, mountainous region is great for biking, hiking, canyoning and free climbing. The church, named after Saints Eusebio and Vittore, is famous for it's elaborate 17th century Flemish frescoes and a rare, 17th century Antegnati organ. Concerts are held in the summer. There is a small grocery store. A large supermarket can be found in Consiglio di Rumo, a fifteen minute drive from Peglio. The nearest car ferry can be found in Menaggio or further on in Cadenabbia, a 30/45 minute drive allowing for traffic. A passenger boat leaves from Gravedona and zig zags across back and forth to many different towns all around Lake Como. You Too is a ten minute drive up the hillside from Gravedona. Anyone staying here will need a vehicle. Public boat transportation around the lake can be found in Gravedona. Domaso, a wind surf paradise is twenty minutes away. Wind surf boards can be rented there.
