Luxury Loft Escape
Our beautiful stable loft is set amongst a forest of deciduous trees and native bushland on 25 acres adjacent to the Hawkesbury River and in close proximity to the Colo River. Our loft is built for 2 in a private setting of landscaped gardens and horses grazing nearby. Our area is renowned for bike riding boasting a beautiful 19km ride along the river, use our bikes or bring your own. Available for your use are: swimming pool , table tennis , archery and kayaking if desired. For a relaxed evening looking at the stars we have an outside seating/garden area with fire pit and wood provided. For bird watches, the deck offers the opportunity to observe our beautiful bird life. Our stable loft is an Architect designed building. It sits beautifully in the side of our valley amongst the trees. Our bird life is abundant and alters with the seasons with migratory birds of all kinds, our favourites being the Rainbow Bea Eaters. There are binoculars available for a closer look. On arrival we will welcome you with a wine and cheese platter and show you how everything works. Continental breakfast will be provided each morning or if you prefer, our home grown eggs & streaky bacon as well. There’s a variety of local produce such as local honey and sourdough bread and sometimes croissants from our famous Glenorie Bakery also available. We have local cafes for dinner or pizza, however if you prefer to cook, there is a barbecue on the deck which also acts as a cook top or oven. We supply salt & pepper, sauce etc. but you will need to bring food along for these meals. Although this is a working horse stable, we only have 2 horses these days, so the horse movement will be minimal and won’t disturb you. They are sweet horses and very partial to a carrot. Contact us any time for help or directions and we are more than happy to assist. Lower Portland has much to offer. Great bike riding, road bikes or mountain bikes. Road bike riders have a beautiful river road ride all the way to Wisemans Ferry. Lunch at the historic Wisemans Ferry Hotel & discover the convict history and early settlers of our area. For mountain bikes there are bush tracks both sides of the Hawkesbury river, ride all day and come back for a swim or just relax. There is also great bike riding up the Great North Road, accessible once crossing the on the ferry at Wisemans Ferry. Using your kayak or ours, there is the Colo River to explore. We can drop you at either end for a beautiful paddle, take a picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the Colo. For a day trip, the drive to St. Albans is an adventure. The Convict built Settlers Arms at St. Albans serves lunch in the beer garden in a delightful setting. Well worth the visit.
