Charming, traditional family holiday home. Originally a family home, this has been a treasured holiday home for our extended family and friends since our grandparents emigrated to Australia in the 1950s. The house is in the heart of the village of Camporovere, within minutes' walk of all its amenities, and is built in the traditional style to be comfortable in both summer and winter weather. We hope the house will be enjoyed by both new and regular visitors to the Altopiano di Asiago. The house is on three floors and is around 100 square meters (1076 sq ft) in size. The ground floor contains a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge room with sitting and dining areas. The first floor contains a bathroom, two double bedrooms (one can be used as a twin/ two single beds) and a laundry. The house is well suited to a family. The owners live overseas but your host is a neighbour with a wealth knowledge about the area. We will coordinate support from your host as required. Camporovere is tiny but well situated Dolomite village on the Altopiano di Asiago. In addition to the bakery and pizzeria, it has a small, family-run cafe/grocery store, two small hotels, a butcher, a rustic farmhouse restaurant (an agriturismo) and a post-office. For young families there is a playground with snack bar in walking distance which, in winter, also has an open air ice-rink. There are 4 small ski resorts within a 30 minute drive (the closest is just 7 minutes away). The main town of the Altopiano - Asiago - is 2km away. Asiago is a lovely and thriving tourist town, popular in particular with Italian tourists. The house is located on a quiet side street, with little passing traffic. The house is a minutes walk to a bus stop that offers a regular service to Asiago. The house is located in the heart of a traditional mountain village, with fresh bread from the panificio (bakery), a cafe/shop and a quality, inexpensive pizzeria and bar all less than a minutes walk away. We particularly recommend our house for beginners or families skiing in winter, and walkers or cyclists in summer. For guests with young families, we have made available a travel cot, stair gates and high chair, as well as a well-stocked toy box. Our overseas guests usually combine this very affordable stay with a visit to Veneto tourist destinations such Venice, Verona, Lake Garda, or wine tours in Valdobbiadene. Towels and bed linens (quilts etc) are provided. Please note - due to the coronavirus, we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. We are also ensuring minimum 72 hours between bookings.
