There are about 20 stairs to climb up and free parking across the street at any time, which is one of the benefits of NOT living in the heart of NYC. Inside the apartment, you’ll find all necessary items for a comfortable stay. We have a hair dryer, an iron, towels, shampoos and toiletries (in the bathroom) and the kitchen is supplied with a microwave, coffee machine, toaster, blender and stove. The living room has a TV with cablevision channels and free-wifi is included free with your stay. If you prefer anything else, like a crib, extra pillows, extra blankets or anything of the sort, please inform me via messages prior to arrival. There are 2 bedrooms and one living room in the apartment. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other, a full-sized bed. The living room has a full-sized sofa bed that also sleeps 2 people. The apartment is perfect for a group of 6 people, super for family trips and groups trips! Or anyone else looking to be close to NYC without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of living in the middle of the city. It's only takes about 30 minutes one train ride and you are in the center of NYC. I ask you to, prior to booking, please, pay attention to stairs and pictures posted and see if that's something doable for you and your group, rather than leaving me 2 stars review for too many awkward stairs, thank you I have a few simple rules, but I ask that you please follow them, Thank you! #1) Please take your shoes off on the stairway platform and keep them off while in the apartment to keep it clean from germs, dirt, and any mess from the streets. I do steam the carpets in the apartment a few times every year, but I ask that you help keep it clean for all future guests by not wearing any shoes in the apartment. #2) I would like to ask you to eat in the kitchen only. It's so much cleaner and hygienic for everyone. #3) In case of any spillage or mess that you may make, there is a vacuum in the closet by the entrance way, as well as other cleaning supplies, underneath the bathroom sink. I do not require that you clean the apartment prior to your departure, but any messes made during your stay should be taken care of promptly. In order to prevent bugs and insects from getting into the apartment, I do ask that you clean up any food spills of any sorts. #4) When you are not in the room or are leaving the apartment for the entirety of the day, I ask that you please turn off all lights and ACs. The light in the stairwell can be left on during the day if you are returning back when it is dark and therefore need to see. This preserves my energy bill and Mother Earth’s natural resources. If you are leaving the apartment and need some air, please just open the windows. If it is winter time, and you need to open the windows for some fresh air, feel free to do so, but please remember to close them prior to leaving the apartment for the day in order to prevent the heat from running 24/7. I sincerely thank you for taking care of this matter. #5) Being that this is a private apartment, in a shared home, and my family is located directly below you, I ask that you are considerate of our noise rule- resting hours are from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Please try to keep any loud noise to a minimum during this time. The apartment is rented for 6 guests and any events or parties with a large group of people is NOT allowed. There is a noise law for the town as well, and so you must be considerate to our neighbors and the town rules. Thank you for understanding. Every household has its own uniqueness so please do treat my place like you are staying over at your friend’s home. Read the house manual book which I have provided for you in living room with all instructions, food places, wifi password, garbage disposal and more. And if you have any questions, please do feel free to send me a message. Please upon checking out, wash all your dishes and take garbage to can by the stairs, thanks! I try to make your stay as pleasurable as I can. I have included in your stay some breakfast items, like bagels, buns and croissants (whatever I can get for that day) cream cheese, butter, tuna fish, cereal, oatmeal and milk and juice. I also prepared a bowl of fruits so you can have a healthy snack upon arrival. This is all complimentary, so please enjoy! You are free to use the coffee machine, tea pot, TV, washing machine and pretty much everything that is in the apartment, but please handle with care. For washing machine instruction- if you are not sure, please ask. We will exchange cell phones or you can always email me as I check my emails often. A drying rack is provided by the machine. It usually takes a few hours to air-dry clothes on it. I recently added small drier for your convince. I only ask that washing and drying is done during day hours and not after 10:00 pm when we are resting underneath and machines are makes vibrating noise, thanks ENTERTAINMENT Just a quick 5-7 minutes away you’ll find Empire City Casino at the Yonkers Raceway for those who are wondering what to do here in town, as well as the Cross County Mall Walk Shopping Center (with a movie theater), the Plaza Shopping Center on Central Avenue, Ridge Hill Shopping Center with a movie theater, and just in case, St. John’s Hospital with urgent care just down to road for those unexpected emergencies. We are also located a quick 5 minute drive from Downtown Yonkers, which has recently been renovated and has day-lighted the Saw Mill River, along with a new harbor boardwalk along the Hudson River. It's stylish, 1,200 square foot attic-style apartment, located in Yonkers. The closest metro and subway stops are no more than a 20 minute walk, or a quick 5-10 min drive to 242nd subway station, by car or taxi. By car, driving to the center of the city – Manhattan – takes no more than 20-30 minutes if there is no traffic. We are located about 20-30 minutes from the LaGuardia airport and about 45 mins from JFK by car. It’s very easy to get to Times Square or the rest of Manhattan for those interested in touring NYC, and pleasantly hidden away from all of the noise, hustle and crowd of Manhattan. You can take a taxi to the train and/or subway by cal(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or if you let me know I can drop you off - if we’ve planned for that. We had family and friends visiting who were over 6 ft tall and they didn't have any issues. Shower in the tub is pretty high so, those that are 6ft tall might find it ok. Also, if you have elderly in your group please consider there is 20+ stairs to climb outside and few inside the apartment .
