Ye Olde Police Station is situated in the heart of the historic village of Ceres, home to World's oldest free Highland Games. We welcome all visitors from across the globe and look forward to sharing our guest home in this quaint village with you. Formerly the village Police Station, the accommodation has been renovated to the highest standards and comprises of an en-suite double room, double bed, central heating, Sky tv, comfortable seating and a radio. The en suite shower room has an excellent hot walk in shower, WC and wash hand basin. Complimentary Continental breakfast, along with complimentary tea and coffee are situated in the adjoining vestibule. Also under counter fridge with refreshment and snacks available to purchase at reasonable prices. Microwave is also available to heat meals. Car park located at rear of building. Pam and Mike will greet you on arrival. They will be close by or provide you with their contact number should any assistance be required. Your host Mike has worked in travel and tourism for many years and has a wealth of local knowledge he is happy to share should guests require this. Mike recently was awarded the British Empire Medal by HM Queen Elizabeth 2nd for services to charities. Ye Olde Police House is perfectly situated on Ceres Main Street with all local village amenitites in close proximity. Local shop is 10 metres from door. The Village pub (Ceres Inn) are within a2 minute walk, at the moment are only doing meals a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Murray’s chip van on a Thursday from 4pm. The Historic Fife Folk Museum and tea room, also the Famous Wemyss Ware Pottery are within a 5 minutes walk. National Trust properties in nearby Tarvit Hill (2 mills), St. Andrews (7 miles) and Falkland 10 miles are also easily reached by both car and local buses. Falkland is also the film location for Outlander. Cars, buses, trains, taxis and walking. Regular coaches (every 30 mins) to both Glasgow and Edinburgh from Cupar. 64 service destinations Cupar-St Andrews via Ceres village. X61 Edinburgh to Dundee via Ceres hourly. This is a great location for those looking to explore St.Andrews (Home of Golf) which is 10 mins away by car and also easily accessed by local buses. The Michelin Restaurant 'The Peat Inn' is only 3 miles away. The historic Market Town of Cupar is 3 miles away and offers a train station which provides a network to Edinburgh and Aberdeen and a link to Edinburgh Airport. The East Neuk fishing villages are also within close distance making this an ideal location for those who wish to explore the Kingdom of Fife.
