Sea Dream Chalet is 5 minutes walk from the Gwithian beach. 'Sea Dream' is a small wooden holiday chalet located at Gwithian Towans, St. Ives Bay in Cornwall, and is ideally situated for those seeking a relaxing beach break, for nature lovers who wish to explore its coastal countryside or for the more adventurous seeking the thrill of the sports that are on offer. PLEASE NOTE; The chalet had a complete makeover, we have fitted a brand new kitchen, new sofa, new mattresses, new bunk beds and a new set of stairs to make the chalet safer for families. At the point of writing this description (summer 2021), the chalet next-door is undergoing renovation and therefore we feel that we must give warning that there may be associated noise during the day time. The chalet is small but very well designed. We have utilised and made the most of the space. On the ground floor there is a open plan living area with a corner sofa and a dining table with 4 chairs. The kitchen is very compact but it has everything you may need during your stay. Microwave, kettle, cooker/oven etc… The bathroom has a bath with a shower overhead, a small sink and plenty of storage for your towels and toilettes. The down stairs bedroom is narrow and long, it has bunk beds and a chest of draws. There is also a door that leads to the small patio/ decking area. There is a built-in wardrobe between the bathroom and the downstairs room, there you will find an ironing board and an iron. The upstairs bedroom / mezzanine has low ceiling, you will not be able to stand up but if you open the velux windows and look out, you will enjoy the most amazing views, and see the whole of St. Ives bay. “It’s perfect for surfers to check the surf conditions”. To the right of the room there is a double bed and bedside tables, to the left there is a small sofa setting area and tv. PARKING; There is limited parking on the right hand side past the chalet, but if unavailable the chalet does have its own private parking space. (Not visible from the chalet). Instead of turning right to the chalet, follow the track for another 10 metres and it’s on the LHS. There is a sign saying its parking for no 43. The only outside space the chalet has is a small decking patio on the back, big enough to put a couple of chairs, however we are only 1 minute stroll away from the most amazing dunes, nature and beach, were you will enjoy the most beautiful sunsets while watching the surf. With its famous island lighthouse, a beautiful beach with 'Three Miles of Golden Sands' on the doorstep, and its impressive dune system. The area is a paradise for surf dudes, beach bums and land lovers alike. The Atlantic swells that break relentlessly onto its beautiful sandy beach provide a watery playground for watersports enthusiasts and the winding coastal paths attract runners, hikers and dog walkers to clock up some miles whilst taking in the views of the stunning coastal scenery. The land between Gwithian Towans and Mexico Towans has been designated as an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and is the second largest dune system in Cornwall, stretching for approximately 3km along the North Cornwall coast from Hayle to Gwithian. These north-west facing dunes rise to a maximum height of over 60 metres. This complex and extensive dune system is exposed and subject to the full force of Atlantic gales and yet support a rich and diverse flora with rare wildlife. The guest have access to the entire house. We live very closed by and will be happy to help guest at anytime. We are right on the dunes. The beach is only 5 minutes walk. There are 2 cafes very near to the Chalet Sunset Surf & The Jam Pot. Also a short walk away in the direction of Godrevy Lighthouse, you will find Godrevy Cafe, they do lovely lunches and their cakes are amazing. A lovely walk from the Chalet (15/20minutes) The Rockpool is just behind Godrevy Cafe, a bistro restaurant/bar. The Red River Inn, is in Gwithian village, (opposition the campsite) a lovely traditional family pub. Hayle is only 3 miles away and you will find all the amenities you need, shops, supermarkets, banks, etc… The vast and the easiest way to get around is by car. The nears bus stop is by the Red River Inn. The nears train station is in Hayle. Please ask for details if you haven’t got a car or if you would like us to pick you up from the bus stop or train station. Due to the access to the mezzanine, (space saving stairs), we don’t recommend our chalet to guest travelling with toddles, however if you are traveling with a baby we are happy for you to stay.
