Pencil Creek Cottage Number 1, Mapleton,Queensland

Hi! We have 3 fabulous cottages located in Mapleton, on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. They are fully contained having a comprehensively equipped kitchen, private deck, smart tv, log fire, aircon, spa bath, bbq on request and a beautiful four-poster bed draped with a mosquito net. Cottage 1 has wheelchair access (there are no steps). Cottage 2 is mid-way down the property and has a view of the dam. Cottage 3 is the closest to the creek. We look forward to hosting you! We are approximately 90 minutes drive from Brisbane CBD, so you can escape the congestion, noise and demands of the city without too much effort to enjoy what the Sunshine Coast Hinterland has to offer. We have a main house with reception at the top of the property as you enter. The cottages are down small roads and are set apart from each other to ensure complete privacy. The creek (Pencil Creek) is at at the bottom of the property and has easy access. All in all, the property covers approximately 12 acres. We have a small buggy if required. The terrain falls gently down to the creek. We have three cottages available each with their own listing, so please check each listing to find the most suitable for you! COTTAGE 1 - has a queen size four poster bed and is wheelchair friendly (nearest to reception). COTTAGE 2 - has open views leading down to the creek from the private deck (mid-way down the property). COTTAGE 3 - has a four poster bed and closest to Pencil Creek (furthest away from reception). Guest can access most parts of the 12 acres. A visit down to the creek is recommended, perhaps to read a book or have a picnic. We also have a newly constructed dam which we have recently stocked with fingerlings (small fish!). Whilst we do not provide a laundry service as such, we are more than happy for you to use our facilities by reception. Not too far away there are many wonderful hiking/walking trails. Mapleton Falls offers a scenic walk that is not too challenging, also there are a few trails closer to Mapleton centre that are worthy of investigation. Kondalilla Falls is worthy of a visit and a dip in the water on a hot day is tempting! If you are a cyclist, Phil will be happy to recommend cycling routes in the area depending on fitness level and riding expertise. We have undercover cycling racks if you wish to use them. The cottages are set away from our residence and from each other offering complete privacy. However, should you need assistance, we are more than happy to help. Across the creek is an organic farm called 'Falls Farm'. They usually have produce available for purchase on Mapleton Falls Road by way of an honesty box. Just look for a wonderfully renovated shed on the left-hand-side of the road as you drive down to Mapleton Falls lookout. Mapleton coffee shop is a favourite for an early morning coffee before a busy day of exploring (or relaxing). Mapleton Tavern has a great menu and a fabulous view. A quirky local favourite is a Japanese fusion cafe called Lazy Rabbit in Flaxton. Beautiful coffee and wonderful food. Well worth a visit. Having a car in this area is recommended. We have a ATV buggy if guests prefer being transported around the property. Our land gradually slopes down to Pencil Creek. We are currently working on providing unencumbered Wifi connections to all cottages. We hope to have this situation resolved shortly.
