Eclectic home w/yard & parking - no cleaning fee!

Eclectic and cozy home in the heart of Shorewood, close to Lake Michigan, UWM, and the downer shopping district. We look forward to hosting you! The house was built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , and has some wonderful character. From the tile floors to the tile fireplace, it's very charming. Certain parts of the home do show their old age, so please exercise caution and be gentle. With that being said, we have central air, however due to the structure of old homes the upstairs where the bedrooms are can get hotter in the summer months and you may require a (provided) fan to be comfortable at night, even with the AC running. In the winter we want guests to adjust the thermostat to a temperature that keeps the comfortable, as I said- the house is old so it is drafty- keep this in mind when you're booking. While the house may seem big from the outside, the inside is very cozy. In the winter I love starting up a fire and sitting in the living room with a great record playing. The kitchen is newly renovated and stocked with all the necessities, including a dishwasher. The bathroom downstairs was recently remodeled and houses a tub but no shower. If you're in need of a shower you'll want to use the upstairs bathroom. There are three bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen size bed. The main bedroom has blackout blinds. The other two bedrooms have curtains or blinds but not blackout. **FIREWOOD IS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON SITE. $5/bundle that will be charged and requested through Airbnb after your stay! **I do not charge a cleaning fee, so please be thoughtful of how you use the space and try to leave it how you found it! **If you bring a pet we charge a $20 cleaning fee to cover the extra cleaning needed for dog/cat hair - You will be asked to agree to this prior to booking! **We also use all natural and low/no chemical cleaners and detergents. **You are booking a three bedroom home - please realize that the price per night reflects this. We factor in the fact that we clean the home ourselves, provide access to the pantry supplies as well as fridge condiments, coffee, and use of the private yard and parking. We feel the price is fair and appreciate if you consider the value of the home prior to booking. You'll have access to three bedrooms upstairs, as well as the balcony space off one of the bedrooms. The main living area, porch, and back yard are all yours to explore! I just ask that you read the rules and most importantly respect the neighbors. I will be available via text or a phone call to answer any of your questions! Most things are self explanatory and you shouldn't need much help from me. In case there is an emergency, you will have my number and I can be reached any time. **PLEASE BE AWARE: there is a security camera by the front door. We have it for our dogs sake since she has access to the full yard when we’re home. Shorewood is also not free of crime, the camera will watch your cars and that is it. BelAir Cantina is down the street on Downer, they have Tuesday and Thursday Taco specials, great margaritas, and free chips and salsa - prepare for at least an hour long wait on tues/thurs. My favorite taco joint is an 8 minute drive- Cafe Corazon in Riverwest, and they also host a taco Tuesday deal. The liquor store Otto's is right around the corner. If you're not familiar, Milwaukee only sells liquor until 9pm. There is one grocery store, Metro Market (a 5 minute drive) that sells alcohol until 11pm. Walgreens is right next to Metro Market. Cafe Hollander does a great breakfast with a variety of bloody marys, and they're about a 5 minute drive across from BelAir Cantina on Downer. There is also the Downer Theater which is a small and classic theater located on, you guessed it- Downer, they usually play really wonderful alternative movies. There is also a Starbucks next to the Downer Theater and a great little local bookstore next door as well. If you're looking for local coffee, you can check out Colectivo in Shorewood, a short drive. We're right next to the bus stop if you prefer to use public transportation. Uber is also an option! Parking is in our driveway in front of the garage/shed attached to the house. Two cars can fit in the space. If you park on the street overnight you will need to visit the Shorewood village website and register your car for overnight parking or you will receive a parking ticket. Please note we have a small (4 cup) coffee pot and a french press, coffee will be provided for you! The television has Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon and cable TV can be accessed using the Spectrum app!
